Are you a dog-loving adventurer looking for a truly unique opportunity? Imagine waking up each day surrounded by breathtaking wilderness, caring for a team of older sled dogs, and living in a luxury off-grid home overlooking Lake Laberge (Whitehorse, Yukon).
We’re seeking one incredible couple for a long-term (6 months to 1 year) immersive experience working with our beloved sled dogs. We have 22 dogs. 21 Alaskan Huskies and 1 pit bull.
10 dogs live inside with us, and 12 live outside in kennels. These dogs are our family, and we spend a lot of time with them. You will too! We are looking for a couple who loves dogs to join us. -

You'll learn about rural life in the Yukon, taking care of sled dogs, and how to handle a luxury off-grid home.

Help
Learn about sled dogs and living off-grid at our Kennel. Duties may include:
=> feeding, scooping poop, walking, & brushing dogs
=> cutting & stacking wood for winter firewood
=> preparing dog food by cutting meat and fish
=> carrying 401b bags of dog food
=> helping set up teams for dryland mushing on an ATV and winter mushing on a sled
=> helping with general maintenance of the yard and home
We do have some physical requirements, as you must be able to lift 40lb bags of dog food and carry water buckets.
Knowledge of mechanical things (such as generators, cars, ATVs, & snowmobiles) is a plus!
During this time, we are not asking for your help with business operations. -

Accommodation
We have a downstairs apartment with a bedroom, bathroom/shower, & kitchen. There's also a gym that you can use and laundry facilities. We have reliable Internet via Starlink. Most of the time, you'll cook your own meals.

What else ...
We live 50 minutes north of Whitehorse in an extremely rural setting overlooking Lake Laberge. The closest neighbor is 3.5 miles away.
During your time off, if you need to go to town, we can arrange to go together, or if we feel comfortable with you and you're legally able to drive in Canada, you may borrow the car.
We live in a remote, beautiful & peaceful area-- perfect for artists and athletes. -
