A traditional Assamese family run tea estate with a manufacturing factory in located in Upper Assam. The estate is over 130 hectares and has been with the family since the 1920s.
Our family lives at the estate along with our dogs :)
Working could be in the form of day to day tea plantation activities - both on field, and in the factory. This will include from fertilising, plucking tea leaves, and manufacture of tea at the factory. There may also opportunities to work in tending to the vegetables and the fruit trees. This will however be seasonal and will depend on 'what grows when'.
Since the estate has its own lower primary school, creche, and hospital - there is also an option of working here *** please note that working in these functions will need extreme patience since the workers are not fluent in English and hence will need to be adjusted accordingly****
Accomodation will be a room in a traditional tea bunglow built in the 1920s and will be an unique experience to live the Assamese way of life.
For the more adventorous there is an option to pitch tent in the compound and if carrying their own tent equipment - you are welcome to do so.
The compound of the accomodation is mostly self sufficient with its own vegetable patch and fruit trees - like guava, pomelos, strawberries, lime, plum, peach, mango, and litchi to name a few.
There is also the option to 'fish' the traditional way in the compound itself, if interested.
