--about me
Habitually interdisciplinary. Self-motivated to improve the outcome of my work. I am super adaptable, a bit geeky, and look for possibilities in any environment. Any condition, any responsibility, any role.. bring it on!
Qualified in early childhood education (including Steiner/Waldorf and Montessori approaches) and did some lecturing at university.
--interest
Reading, walking everywhere, calisthenics, cooking and gardening.
--why I'm here
Any type of relationship is how we mature (and I ain't getting that from books).
If I can use my time being helpful, that is what I would do before anything else.
Meaningful and insightful conversations is living to me. I am an open book, ask me anything.Gesprochene Sprachen

I have lived in Vietnam on and off since 2010 and have since accrued experience working at private schools (namely Steiner/Waldorf and Montessori), public universities and colleges, as well as, English centers, kindergartens and preschools.
My experience in education has been rich, diverse, and fulfilling. I appreciate the challenges early in my career, the learning needed to understand what it takes to not only be a teacher, but a good one, the magnitude of having lessons connect with each student by adjusting to their prior understanding, weaknesses and strengths.
I took tremendous value from having the responsibility of being in charge of university courses, not only teaching them but also creating curriculums. And even greater import from founding and running a nonprofit school in Vietnam, a unique task of building a school from an idea and facing all the challenges that owners, investors, directors and managers have to address.
Most recently, I had the joy of learning about and internalizing educational methods of Steiner/Waldorf and Montessori. I am grateful for the opportunity of direct experience I had in applying their philosophies as I was learning their respective methodologies. I cannot overvalue the benefit they had in expanding my understanding of teaching through rhythm, rhyme and more broadly, by taking students' heads up from books and flashcards into what they can see and understand about the world, particularly as I endeavored to teach ages 3-5.
Beyond education, my background includes (in minor ways but occasionally in professional settings) electrical work, motorcycle repair, home repair, diy, hospitality, cooking and cleaning. Whatever the task, I will do my utmost to apply the same level of detail and care as you would if you were doing it yourself.Alter

Taiyo is very welcoming and accommodating, always willing to help. I could also say the same about his family, who made me feel at home. I did not get a chance to meet his wife and kids during my stay, which I am sad about.
