Hello! My name is Sierra. I was born and raised in Arizona which is the desert I call home (no, it's not all cacti and tumble weeds- pretty close to it though!) I find myself happiest when I am out doors, meeting new people, and trying new things. I graduated college with a degree in Family Studies and Human Development. During my time in college, I did a lot of volunteer work which consisted of community out reach where I built relationships with homeless populations, was a camp counselor for children who are refugees living in the area, tutoring/mentoring at-risk youth, along with many other things.
I recently quit my job working at a mental health treatment center after going out of the country to Ecuador for the first time and getting bit by the travel bug. Working at the mental health center, I met several wonderful people from all over. Not only did I hear about their stories of hardship but I also got to hear about their hopes and dreams, and what kept them going through all of the pain. And that is what I find myself being most motivated by-- experiencing the beauty of this life despite its challenges as well as in the challenges; and getting to share that with others.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I speak fluent English, and very little Spanish (still learning).
I have done a lot of volunteer work involving homeless populations, being a mentor/counselor/teacher to youth and adults (refugees, at-risk youth, youth in the church, in a rehab setting), have coached high school softball, and have lots of experience speaking in front of large groups of people. I also have two younger siblings who I helped care for as they have grown up.
I am always excited to learn new things and am a quick learner.
