Hello!

I'm Ryan a 26 year-old Australian traveller that has been working in Amsterdam as a bartender for the past year. Since I have been living in such a busy city I am looking forward to doing the opposite and returning to a simpler lifestyle in nature, farming and gardening, which is what I did growing up with my father and grandfather. My fathers side of the family were Italian immigrants who made a life out of farming in Sydney. I'd love to be able to see what the lifestyle is like in Sardinia.

Amsterdam was incredibly fun and fast paced which led to my mind being quite noisy. I'd love to get back into what I know brings me peace and joy. Hopefully you may decide to show me your way of life and help quiet my mind. I miss finishing a day of hard physical work in nature as I get such a sense of accomplishment and euphoria from it. I return home in mid July and can't wait to return to my father's rural property in the granite belt of Queensland where he has his cows and gardens.

I have been working mostly in IT and hospitality for the last 10 years. I enjoy physical activity, good food, wine and being close to the natural world. Having honest and close relationships with my friends and family is incredibly important to me. I like exploring new ways of thinking or doing things so as to broaden my perception of life.

Hi there! I'm Jasper a 27 year-old bloke from Australia.
I grew up in semi-rural Queensland (Australia) before moving to the big city to study. I am looking to do a workaway to return to my roots. I love adventure; I rock climb, surf, and hike in my free time. My favourite mode of transport is riding my bicycle. I studied political science and Indigenous studies in university, I also have a keen interest in philosophy and how ideas shape our world as result. I have spent many years in hospitality so am also interested in food and wine from farm to table.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Jasper - I have experience with farm animals (mostly sheep and cattle),
domestic animals (the dog cat divide is a false dichotomy, I love them both!),
landscaping (both my parents are landscape architects - I grew up always helping in the garden for both production and aesthetics), gardening (I grew up using permaculture methods in the garden but have not studied it myself sorry - knowledge is purely osmosis), some experience with carpentry (worked as a supervised apprentice in the US and then did a whole van refit for myself - I prefer to try and use recycled wood for these purposes), and in all honesty I'm a 196cm physically fit male so can just workhorse through physical labour which is something I enjoy.

Ryan - I have landscape and gardening experience as my father always dragged me down into our huge yard to clear all the non-native trees. We then replanted the area adjoining a creek with native trees. I understand how to chop down a tree and then reuse all of its parts so that it isn't wasted. I'm physically fit and 194cm tall so I'm not afraid of physical labour.

I've never worked as a chef but I've worked in the restaurant industry for the last 7 years. Being around chefs and likeminded people has made me a decent home cook. I've grown up cooking as my parents are passionate about their food. One of my greatest passions in life is cooking for my friends and family.
