Beschreibung

I'm a former high school English teacher currently working to heal from life events and build a new life for myself. Workaway and Trusted Housesitters are key to making this a reality for me.

What brings me joy? Doing good work, meeting good people, having meaningful experiences and conversations, and integrating these things into my own life and self.

I'm not much of a cook, but I enjoy helping to prep, and I could teach classes on how to wash dishes. ;)

I have two challenges you'll want to consider before accepting my application, both the result of years of emotional abuse: C-PTSD and Post Concussion Syndrome. Though I'm doing what I can to heal, I learned much on my first workaway in late 2025.

A. I need to break the work into chunks throughout the morning and afternoon, giving my brain and nervous system a chance to rest from the additional neural load that comes w/ physical work.

B. Some days, my C-PTSD would be triggered and I'd be out of commission for the rest of the morning or afternoon (and a few times for the rest of the day). If you can be flexible with respect to when I put in the hours, working on weekends to make them up if need be, you'll find me fully devoted to honoring our arrangement.

As the adopted son of a perfectionist farmer, I share little of his technological and engineering abilities. But I did learn how to work hard on the farm. I'm familiar with a variety of manual labor tasks needed in rural communities. And if the task isn't too complex, I can learn to do it without too much difficulty.

Was noch ...

Before leaving for South America, I lived a very limited experience. I have much to rediscover about myself and my interests, and have recently begun to do so, with reading, writing, going for nature walks, and living spontaneously at the top of the list currently.
