Hello!

I am a 27-year-old adventurer from Finland. I've lived in Amsterdam for the past 6 years where I've just graduated with a Master's degree in Environment and Resource Management (specialized in Food Systems). I also have a Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management. I'm here on Workaway looking for a host for a couple of months because I'm planning to have a little break between my studies and jumping full-time into the working life. Sustainability is a big passion of mine and in the future, I want to be a part of finding solutions for societal problems related to natural resource depletion and environmental change.

I have plenty of hobbies and things I'm passionate about. I love photography, videography (I've made a fun little documentary and want to make more), music and drawing; and basically any creative projects where I get to work with my hands. Solo traveling (I have solo traveled through Australia, Indonesia, and all around Europe), and climbing. During COVID-19 I became very passionate about climbing, and currently I work as a duty manager and social media manager at a bouldering gym here in Amsterdam.

During my time in Australia where I lived for two years on a Working Holiday-visa, I worked in multiple hostels in the reception and as a housekeeper and housekeeping manager. I learned a lot about what it means to run a hostel, and how it is to live in a community. I also become highly culturally aware, through meeting so many different people from all over the world.

I am a practical and optimistic person and believe that our mindset affects so much how happy we are. Through travelling, living abroad, and climbing I've learned how important having a community is for me, and therefore I'm very curious to learn more about community-based living, where everyone contributes with a common goal.

Nature is very important for me and since I only have the theoretical knowledge through my studies so far, I'm keen to learn in a more practical sense about permaculture, agroforestry, self-sufficiency, small-scale energy production, ecology, and food security. I also love animals and I have experience with dogs but would also would love to learn more about animal-care.

There is a lot more to me, but here is me in a nutshell. Don't be afraid to ask more. :)

I would love to learn more Spanish (currently I have an A2 level) and French (studied for 6 years when I was a child, forgot most of it but want to learn more again), and I am able to teach English or Finnish since I am fluent in both.
