  ! CURRENTLY : we are finishing the inner house, parquetery, garden, furnitures for the collective kitchen and living room + caring the sheeps and bees <3 !
  
  We live collectively in a house located on the plateau of Retord in the department of Ain. Located at an altitude of 890m, the house overlooks the town of Bellegarde-sur-Valserine and offers a panoramic view of the Jura and the Alps.
  
  Here are the people behind this collective : Ludovic is the carpenter and responsible for all the work and bees; Juliette is a trainer in shared governance and responsible for facilitation and sheeps; Lisa is currently in a formation to become mountain guide, she's responsible for the garden and chickens; Nathanaël is a social worker, he no longer living here but still a reference for the forest and garden; Emma is an artist and responsible of accountance and hosting and Nour is the youngest of team <3. Everyone participates in the project!
  
  In May 2021, we bought this space of 2.6 ha divided between 2 old buildings, an old cultivation of Christmas trees and a forest located higher up on the plateau. The two main buildings are made of local stone, around 200 years old. We are therefore committed to carrying out the renovation with sustainable materials, worked by local craftsmen or by ourselves.
  
  In 2021, we completely renovated the smaller of the two buildings called “the bread oven”: dismantling of refractory stones, masonry and stone cutting, framework and roofing in recovered slates, bathroom, water and electricity connection, mezzanine , biofib insulation, oak flooring and earth coatings. We also cleared the entire land, leveled and cleared the 1km path leading to the houses, cleaned the rainwater collection tank, mounted the gutters, built dry toilets, installed the water pipes and prepared the electrical network.
  
  In 2022 we had the electrical connection, installed the water purification system, renovated the roof of the large house and prepared an additional floor, renovated 80m2 inside to create a second dwelling and complete the technical room. We have also set up a vegetable garden and planted about twenty trees and small fruits!
  
  For 2023 we finished 2 collective rooms - coated with clay found in our soil - and we finished the top floor : a large room to organize events, workshops, residencies, training etc.
  
  In 2024 we built a big sheep house, planted trees, small fruits, enlarged the garden and started to prepare the collective living room and kitchen !

  Nous vivons en collectif dans une maison situé sur le plateau du Retord dans le département de l’Ain. Situé à 890m d’altitude, la maison surplombe la ville de Bellegarde-sur-Valserine et offre une vue panoramique sur le Jura, le Salève et les Alpes.
  
  Voici les personnes derrière ce collectif : Ludovic est charpentier, apiculteur et responsable de l’ensemble des travaux ; Lisa est en ce moment en formation accompagnatrice moyenne montagne et responsable des poules; Juliette est formatrice en gouvernance partagée et responsable brebis et facilitation; Nathanaël n'habite plus sur le lieu mais est toujours la référence jardin et forêt; Emma est artiste et responsable de l’accueil ; Nour est le plus jeune merle de l'équipe <3. Tout le monde participe à l'avancée du projet !
  
  En mai 2021, nous avons acheté cet espace de 2,6 ha répartis entre 2 vieilles bâtisses, une ancienne culture de sapins de Noël et une forêt située plus haut sur le plateau. Les deux bâtisses principales sont en pierres locales vieilles d’environ 200 ans. Nous avons donc à cœur d’en effectuer la rénovation avec des matériaux durables, travaillés par des artisans locaux ou par nous-même.
  
  En 2021, nous avons retapé entièrement le plus petit des deux bâtiments dit “le four à pain” : démontage des pierres réfractaires, maçonnerie et taille de pierres, charpente et couverture en ardoises récupérées, salle de bain, raccordement eau et électricité, mezzanine intérieure, isolation biofib, plancher en chêne déclassé et enduits en terre.
  Nous avons également débroussaillé l’entier du terrain, nivelé et éclairci le chemin de 1km qui y mène, nettoyé la cuve de récupération d’eau de pluie, monté les gouttières, construit des toilettes sèches, installé les canalisations d’eau et préparé le réseau électrique.
  
  En 2022 nous avons eu le raccordement électrique, installé le système de potabilisation de l'eau, rénové le toit de la grande maison et préparé un étage supplémentaire, rénové 80m2 à l'intérieur pour créer un deuxième logement et terminer le local technique. Nous avons également mis en place un potager et planté une vingtaine d'arbres et de petits fruits !
  
  Pour 2023 nous avons terminé deux pièces communes au premier étage - avec des enduits faits à partir de la terre trouvée sur notre terrain - , et avons fini le dernier étage : une grande salle pour organiser des évènements, ateliers, résidences, formations etc.
  
  En 2024, on a construit une grande bergerie, planté des arbres fruitiers et petits fruits et commencé à préparer le futur salon commun et cuisine commune !

  Vous pourrez vous familiariser avec les travaux qu'implique la rénovation d'une maison (comme par exemple apprendre à isoler, enduire, poser un parquet etc.), selon la saison, vous serez amené-e-s à faire un peu de jardin ou d'agroforesterie... mais aussi de voir comment le collectif fonctionne au quotidien en gouvernance partagée, la répartition des tâches, les processus de prises de décisions et autres outils de communication nécessaires au fonctionnement d'un collectif.

  Arbeit

  Here, every help is very precious to us. It is possible to accompany us for the renovation (under the supervision of professionals) as well as work outside in the garden, with bees, sheeps or campsite depending on the season. We will be delighted to welcome cooking enthusiasts who will be able to show us their special dishes. In short, there is something for everyone here!

  Ici, chaque aide nous est très précieuse. Il est possible de nous accompagner pour la rénovation (sous la supervision de professionnel-le-s) autant que pour le travail extérieur tel qu'au jardin, avec les abeilles, les brebis ou sur l'aménagement de l'espace camping selon la saison! Nous seront ravi-e-s d'accueillir les amateur-ice-s de cuisine qui pourront nous faire découvrir leurs petits plats. En bref, il y en a pour tous les goûts ici !

  There are a large number of hikes to do, the GR 9 passes close to our house and we are surrounded by forest, all in all, an ideal setting for hiking enthusiasts. There's several spots to chill and swim in the river which is a 15min drive from here + if you're up for climbing or speleology there's possibilities nearby :)
  We are 10 min by car from Bellegarde and 45 min from Geneva + there's a high speed train station in Bellegarde going to Paris, Lyon or Geneva. We can come pick you up at the train/bus station.

  Il y a un grand nombre de randonnées à faire, le GR 9 passe proche de notre maison et nous sommes entouré de forêt, somme toute, un cadre idéal pour les amateur.ice.s de ballade. Il y a également de jolis coins pour chiller et se baigner dans la rivière à 15min en voiture, ainsi que la possibilité de faire de l'escalade et de la spéléo pas loin !
  Nous sommes à 10 min en voiture de Bellegarde et 45 min de Genève, il y a aussi une gare TGV à Bellegarde qui nous relie à Paris et Genève, Lyon etc. On peut venir vous chercher à la gare de train / bus.
