Beschreibung

Travel and learning are what motivate us the most. We’re a couple (Adriana and Mauricio), Colombian by birth, and we’ve been living in Canada for almost 19 years. Our children grew up here and are now independent, and that’s one of the reasons we decided to take a sabbatical and focus on travel, our online projects, and new experiences through volunteering.

Since 2025, we’ve been living a more nomadic lifestyle, and volunteering fits really well with the way we live now. We love the idea of cultural exchange — sharing everyday life with locals, helping in a practical way, learning new skills, and discovering a place from the inside, not just as tourists. What brings us happiness is getting to know places in a simple, local way: meeting people, sharing daily life, and spending time outdoors. We enjoy traveling slowly and calmly, without needing luxury, and we adapt easily to new environments.

We also feel good when we’re active and learning. We like walking, sports, and keeping a healthy routine, and we’re naturally curious about many different subjects.

We’re a reliable, easygoing couple with professional experience, strong practical life skills, and a positive, hands-on attitude.

Work & education:
• Mauricio has a background in IT (problem-solving, organization, attention to detail, and clear communication).
• Adriana worked with a community organization supporting the integration of newly arrived immigrants, so she’s very comfortable in intercultural environments and enjoys helping people feel welcome.

Languages:
• Spanish and French: fluent
• English: good level (Mauricio) / basic level (Adriana)

Practical skills we can offer:
• General help around the home: keeping spaces clean and organized, laundry, dishes, simple meal prep, errands, and supporting daily routines.
• Pet care: we’ve occasionally cared for friends’ pets (feeding, walks, basic routines, companionship).
• Good planning and logistics: we’ve traveled a lot and we’re used to planning ahead, coordinating schedules, and communicating clearly.
• We’re in good physical shape and comfortable with active tasks, and we enjoy spending time outdoors and being in contact with nature.

We’re hands-on and quick learners. Even if we don’t have extensive experience in farming or construction, we’re happy to learn and help with practical tasks when shown what to do.

One more thing: we enjoy photography and documenting our travels. We’re also building our online projects as digital nomads, so we appreciate having a calm space in the evenings to work a bit and keep a steady routine. Outside of that, we love walks, nature, simple local experiences, and learning about history and culture.
