Beschreibung

We are Lia and Serafin, a young (26&34) engaged couple from the west of Germany, excited to experience new places and ways of living through Workaway. We enjoy travelling together and appreciate meaningful, respectful exchanges with our hosts.

We love learning more about living healthy and self-sufficiently, while staying close to nature.

Serafin is a trained roofer with strong practical skills and a natural talent for hands-on, physical work. He brings many years of experience and, alongside his professional work, has converted a campervan from scratch, gained some experience working on cars, and fully renovated both a construction trailer and a tiny house, including all electrical and plumbing work. Serafin has lived for one year in Kenia doing social work at a school and also managing a treenursery. So he has experience with gardening and growing plants, loves fishing and is interested in forestry and hunting, always with respect for nature.

Lia has lived many years in Spain and also studied in England. She loves taking care of animals and especially young children. Her focus lies on observing and respecting the needs and natural tendencies of these admirable beings, wishing to support developing their individual potentials.

While we’re traveling, Lia will be working remotely (administrative job in family business), so she might be a little busier during the day - but will help out whenever possible.

We are very comfortable working independently, managing tasks on our own, and keeping ourselves busy. We enjoy being just the two of us, while at the same time being open-minded, friendly, and happy to connect with people. Privacy and mutual respect are important to us and we prefer to sleep in a seperate accomodation on our own.

We value reliability and responsibility, and we have high standards for ourselves. We are adaptable, nature-loving, calm, and respectful of our environment. We do not smoke or drink alcohol. We mostly eat vegetarian (Lia always) - Serafin only eats meat in certain cases - mainly self-caught fish or meat from animals raised responsibly. We generally enjoy eating healthy and love picking up new ideas and tips along the way.

We are very much looking forward to visiting Ireland for the first time, from the end of March or the beginning of April until June, and we would love to experience the countryside and everyday life as it is lived by local people.

In 2024, we spent around four months travelling through different parts of Europe in our van. We really enjoyed the flexibility of this lifestyle.

This time, we would love to become more involved in daily life, to learn from different people, and to experience rural living more deeply - therefore we'll come by our car and not with our campervan. We are especially interested in finding inspiration for a way of life that is more in harmony with nature.

At the moment, we are planning a stay of up to two weeks, as during our aprox. two months of travelling we would like to see as many different corners of Ireland as possible.
