Hi there! We’re a couple (Bryan & Summer) from Hong Kong, living in Canada, and now traveling on a working holiday in Japan. We joined Workaway because we love connecting with people, learning about different ways of life, and contributing positively to the communities we visit. We’re both passionate about cultural exchange, helping others, and exploring the world with an open heart. Being able to experience local lifestyles while giving something back is what makes traveling meaningful for us.

What makes us happiest is spending time outdoors, whether it’s relaxing on the beach, hiking in the mountains, or enjoying the peaceful countryside. We love meeting locals and hearing their stories. We both really enjoy working with children and animals, as well as cooking, photography, and trying out traditional crafts and food. We’re kind, easygoing, and responsible people who value teamwork and good communication. We’re always happy to lend a hand with whatever’s needed , like gardening, cleaning, cooking, or creative projects — and we try to bring positive energy wherever we go!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Bryan: I have hands-on farming experience from helping on two different farms in Okinawa, where I learned to handle daily farm tasks, work efficiently outdoors, and adapt quickly to whatever was needed. I graduated with a degree in accounting, so I’m organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with numbers or simple administrative tasks. I adjust easily to new environments and enjoy learning new things, and I’m a good communicator who gets along well with different kinds of people. I also enjoy cooking and can help prepare simple, tasty meals. I’m very active and good at sports, so physical or outdoor work is something I’m comfortable with. Overall, I bring a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and I’m always ready to help wherever I can.

Summer: I have a strong background in working with children, both as a substitute teacher and as a tutor for kids with learning disabilities. Through this work, I’ve developed patience, clear communication, and the ability to adapt to different personalities and needs. I’m comfortable planning activities, supporting learning, and creating a warm, positive environment for kids.
I’m also quite creative — I love taking photos and filming to record my life, especially when traveling or exploring new places. I enjoy cooking simple meals, helping with household tasks like cleaning and organizing, and doing light gardening. I’m a fast learner and always excited to try new things, whether it’s hands-on work, cultural activities, or creative projects. I’m friendly, responsible, and easy to work with, and I try to bring kindness, curiosity, and positive energy to every place I stay.
