Hello, hola, привет! I’m Kate, and I’ve been solo traveling for nearly two years. Notable locations include Romania, Mozambique, Armenia, Georgia, Outback Australia, Melbourne, Java and the absolute middle of the jungle in Borneo. Exploring different cultures is my passion, and I’m always eager to learn from anyone I interact with. I love connection with people, biking, music, nature, art, dancing, beer, and all things aesthetic.

After these past two years, I’m beginning my life anew in New Orleans. I figured I would start life here in the best way I know how: connect with Workaways and slowly integrate myself in the community and build a settled life as time goes on. I’d love to meet you and hear your story and share a few of my own! I’m willing to work hard and respect your space as best I can :)

Also I’m quite a decent artist and muralist. If you have a fun idea for a mural just lmk!

I can teach English. I can comfortably carry a conversation in Russian, but I struggle with specialized vocabulary. I'm sorely out of practice currently. Spanish is beginner level I've picked up over the years and at school. I am highly interested in studying Russian or Spanish (or honestly any language) with somebody, and I can help with your English. My favorite combination is combining someone's intermediate English with my intermediate Russian or limited Spanish. I find it a super helpful and fun way to learn a language for both of us!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I'm an artist who has experience creating murals, paintings, and various other art projects (I could paint a mural for you if you want;) . I spent my childhood learning to make various things like baskets, bookbinding, wallets, scarves, hats, jewelry, etc, so I can pick up creating things very easily. I also have experience building large canvases from scratch.

In prior Workaways, I've helped lay cement, grout, lift things, make jam, and basic building projects. Definitely not a pro, but I've done it! I worked at a bike shop for half a year and am comfortable building bicycles and doing basic maintenance on them.

I have limited experience teaching English when I taught Ukrainian refugees/orphans in refugee house in Romania. I have a TEFL certification.

I've helped manage social medias before. Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint. Limited experience on Wordpress and InDesign, and website making, but I'm learning!

I also can cook, clean, do basic maintenance, have a rudimentary knowledge of power tools, limited knowledge of sewing.

Also have a Bachelors in Business and Russian Language

I love mountains, hiking, bike packing, gravel riding, caving and rock climbing! I'm 100% down for any type of outdoor adventure. I have some experience lead sport climbing, bouldering and toprope, and I climb at an intermediate level. I'm always, and I mean always, down for an adventure or something new, whatever you're in to and willing to teach me.
