Beschreibung

I am a recent graduate of a masters program in Adult Education for Social Change. I love travel, learning, good food & drink, and above all: a deep conversation. I'm fascinated by languages; I'm a native English speaker who learned Spanish in adulthood and desires to continue learning more languages and new ways to connect with people.

I currently have remote, part-time work with a university in the United States and I live in Glasgow, Scotland. I enjoy many facets of city-life, but I'm curious about living in a more remote area/smaller community, and enthusiastic about getting more time in nature, doing work with my hands/physical work (as a juxtaposition to my desk job), and learning more about growing / building things and conncetions.

I am happy to teach and give practice opportunities for English speakers - I have worked as an English teacher in the past and enjoy language exchange immensely. I'm interested in learning many different languages, most urgently: Greek, Portuguese, Italian, or Arabic.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Perhaps my strongest skill is adaptability - I have worked as an international resident assistant and trip leader for students from the USA in numerous countries in Latin America. I am fluent in Spanish, and have loved working as an interpreter and translator. I am a trained social worker and educator and I enjoy teaching languages (mostly English). Having also worked in hospitality/restaurants, I am flexible and can figure out how to chip in, even in fast paced/chaotic environments.

In my free time I love to bake, dance, practice yoga, and spend time outdoors. My mother keeps a large garden and my father is a carpenter, so I grew up loving both growing things from dirt and crafting things from wood. Neither of these are areas in which I am particularly skilled (as they are outside of my professional life as an adult) but both are areas I would absolutely love to learn about and gain experience in!
