Kia ora! I'm Frank, from UK now living in Aotearoa New Zealand. I’m motivated by a simple, grounded way of living and I’m happiest when I’m outdoors and feeling useful. I’m interested in Taoism and meditation, and I try to keep life balanced and low-stress. I enjoy calm environments and being around people who are easygoing and creative.

I enjoy spending time in nature, helping grow organic food, looking after animals, and getting stuck into hands-on work. I like being around pets and am always happy to help care for them as part of daily life. I also have a strong love of music. I DJ and listen to a wide range of styles, and music is a big part of how I relax and connect with people.

Workaway appeals to me because it’s a chance to live simply, meet good people, and contribute to communities while getting to know a place properly. I like helping out where I can, sharing skills, and being part of a household where everyone pitches in and supports each other.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I bring a mix of practical outdoor skills and technical experience, and I’m happy working both independently or as part of a team.

I’m very comfortable with hands-on tasks. I grew up with parents who are very keen gardeners, and grow my own organic veg at home. Also experienced in planting, land care, and general property maintenance, and I’m always willing to learn new things. I’m fit, reliable, and don’t mind physical work or getting my hands dirty.

Outside of that, my professional background is in environmental and GIS work, where I’ve been involved in mapping, data collection, and supporting conservation and ecology projects. I work freelance, my website is www.mohuamaps.co.nz .

I spent many years on my family smallholding so I'm good with animals and happy to help with pet care, feeding, and general routines. I’m tidy, organised, and respectful of shared spaces, and I tend to pick things up quickly once shown what’s needed.

I owned my own house for many years so got pretty handy with DIY. When I return to New Zealand I would like to build a cabin one day. Currently I don't have any experience in 'proper' building but would really like to learn some building skills on this trip and will be a willing assistant to someone who can give a bit of guidance.

Was noch ...

I'm from the UK originally but Golden Bay Aotearoa/New Zealand is home. In April 2026, I start on someting that I have wanted to do for a long time; travel the world slowly. I'm going to be doing a mix of woofing, remote work, pet sitting, and visiting friends. The journey so far has taken me to: Canada and the UK, next stop, Portugal.
