Beschreibung
Hello! I’m Jang (my Korean name is Jangung, but you can call me Jang - this is the easier way to pronounce it :) ) and I am from Busan, Korea. I was studying Biology in university for a year, but I decided to take a gap year this year for finding out more about what I want to be and what I like. I am in New Zealand at the moment because I want to experience a lot of different things and I want to meet a lot of different people.
I’m good at teaching science or maths, and and I also have some experience with farm work - my grandparents were farmers, so I helped out occasionally when I was younger (like picking apples!). I’m also comfortable around animals - I have two cats in my home, and when I stayed at my grandfather’s farm, I helped take care of his dog, rabbit and chicken. So I’m familiar with looking after pets and enjoy spending time with them. Also, if you like I can teach boxing and piano(I learnt piano for 5 years when I was young, so I can teach basic piano and some songs). I love cooking and learning about different food cultures. Whenever I stay in hostels, I ask people to show me their own cooking styles — it's one of my favorite ways to connect with others. I love being able to immerse myself into the culture and learn different ways of life whilst meeting people, which is one of the main reasons I came to New Zealand. I love being a part of a team and becoming close to those I work with. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and having conversations with others — I'm always curious to hear about people's lifestyles and stories.
The most important thing to know about me is that I like doing new things, and I am an enthusiastic and positive person. For example, when I worked at a cafe in a department store during my summer vacation, over 1500 people per day came to the cafe, but I did not lose my passion and I learnt new skills fast, and my employer even gave me a raise because of my attitude and work ethic. Whenever I encounter problems or difficulties, I have a positive attitude towards solving that problem in any situation. (I try to stay positive and find good solutions.)
Looking forward to sharing and learning with you!Interessengebiete

From the start, they welcomed me not just as a guest but as part of their life. I came hoping to learn about their culture, lifestyle, and recipes — but I gained so much more.
They shared fresh ideas and perspectives every day, helping me grow… read more
