Hello! We're Ben and Ruby :) We're an Irish couple in our early twenties who have lived, travelled, worked, and attended workaways together for 2 years now. We both share a very clear dream of living a nature driven life away from mainstream society. To live a real human existence of community and play and love. To wake up in the morning and the task list for the day to consist of tending to ourselves and our space, land, home and community. The next stage of achieving this dream is to spend time with people who are further ahead on this journey, to be inspired and to share and learn from their land and experience. And to have a lot of fun while we're doing it!

Ben, an Irishman with a lot of love for nature, music, people and really nice food. I've been travelling since 2019, so far I've spent time in New Zealand, Spain, Portugal, Sicily, France, and I've done some lovely exploring of my motherland, Ireland.
I'm quite a laid-back, conscious and aware person. I like to get all the joy out of life, living fully in the present moment as much as possible.

By trade, I'm an outdoor education instructor, I'm widely experienced and qualified in teaching sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, rock climbing, etc. In recent years while travelling, I've taken breaks from working in outdoor education, and I've entertained my curiosities and passions for permaculture, horticulture, and self-sustainability.
What motivates me most are my own passions, loves and dreams. What makes me most happy is sunshine, music, the ocean, nice dogs, quality time with my friends and family, some really good food, and ideally all that at once.
I love learning, particularly learning by doing.

Ruby Rose, an Irish girl who loves travel and new experiences. I have worked in all corners of the globe with workaway, most recently in Mexico, Amsterdam, Jamaica, Portugal, Greece, Finland, Spain and France. I have lived in many different places and types of homes, but currently I am back home in Ireland. I am a practicing artist but also a trained experienced outdoor instructor, I have a lot of childcare experience with all ages (I love hanging out with kids and babies), and a newly qualified Doula.i am also very good at home making- organisation, painting and just generally improving the vibe of spaces. while at home the past five months I've set up a little gardening business and I have been working in permaculture locally, tending to peoples gardens which I have loved and learned so so much. I love spending time outdoors and being immersed in nature, yoga, meditation, crafting and ecstatic dance. I am upbeat, enthusiastic, eager to help and learn new skills (especially interested in practicing eco building techniques and practicing holistic cooking) , conscientious, and adventurous. I love broadening my mind while traveling and helping others :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Ben loves physical and practical work, being outdoors working with my hands makes me very happy. I have heaps of experience doing general gardening and landscaping, working with mechanical and manual gardening tools. I also have quite a bit of experience with power tools, doing general construction. I have lots of experience teaching physical skills to people, I have a very good understanding of how people learn.
I have lots of experience driving, big and small vehicles, with trailers, and vehicles full of people, small buses etc.
I also have plenty experience in hospitality and customer service.
I've worked in loads of very changeable diverse work environments, so I'm very versatile and able to adapt easily.
I like to complete tasks fully and mindfully, and to treat things as if they're my own.

Ruby is very talented when it comes to painting/artistic endeavours. I've been working in permaculture most recently, and I have completed a permaculture design course in Portugal in 2022. I am very experienced with childcare, I have consistent families I work with when I am home in Ireland and absolutely love it. I also have natural skills in the area of cleaning/organisation. I really enjoy cooking and have worked as a cook in a restaurant in Antibes in the south of France last winter.i also have lots of experience in retail and hospitality, from work over the years. my favourite thing is just being in nature, working outside and living outdoors as much as possible, and movement- hiking, walking, running, I love moving my body and challenging myself.

Was noch ...

Ben loves to play guitar, but is reluctant to travel with one after a few bad experiences with airports! So any chance to play one is much appreciated.
Similar story with skateboards and surfboards.
