Beschreibung

Hi everyone!

We are Steffen and Annika, a couple from southern Germany. We are 35 and 32 years old and are currently taking a break from our professional lives to travel through the Balkans in our small campervan.

Steffen is a mechanical engineer and a bit of an academic all-rounder. He is also a geography nerd and very musical. In his free time, he enjoys running, hiking, camping and discovering new places. Annika works in the field of architecture and loves working with her hands, especially with wood, crocheting and crafting. She also enjoys running, hiking, reading and camping.

We first met while working on a project in Haiti with Engineers Without Borders, focused on intercultural cooperation. Through this experience, we both gained some practical experience on construction sites and developed a basic understanding of different kinds of DIY and handyman work. We are definitely not professional craftsmen or farmers, but we are practical, motivated to learn and happy to help wherever we can.

During our travels, we would love to get to know the countries we visit from a different perspective and experience more than just the typical tourist side. We want to get some new expertise and get a better connection to everyday life.

That is why we are looking forward to spending some time with a host family, helping with daily tasks and projects, and learning more about sustainable living, farming and life in a different environment. We are curious, open-minded and excited to learn new skills, share experiences and hopefully become part of your everyday life for a little while.

We are happy to help with a wide range of tasks and are open to learn new things. We have some experience with basic construction and DIY work and are comfortable using simple tools. We would be happy to help with gardening, outdoor work, maintenance, painting, small building or renovation projects and other practical tasks.
