Beschreibung

Hello! My name is Julia, nice to meet you!

I am 25 years old and I grew up and spend most of my life at the beautiful Baltic Sea coast in Northern Germany. I now left my familiar surroundings for a longer period of time and finally fulfill my wish to travel alone and see a lot more of the world.

I love to travel with Workaway, because I am in direct contact with the locals and can really learn a lot about their country, the culture, the language and the local cuisine. I am looking forward to meeting new people and gaining insights into other ways of life and learning more about myself.

I would describe myself as an open-minded, curious and empathetic person. Open communication is very important to me.

I prefer to spend my time outdoors in nature, hiking, camping or swimming in the sea. I love spending time with my friends and family, going to concerts, doing sports and looking after my plants. One of my favourite things to do is cooking and baking. Reading an being creative is also something I really enjoy. I am particularly interested in topics such as psychology and sustainability.

I recently completed my training as an occupational therapist. During this time, I helped people to participate in everyday life and society as independently as possible despite their limitations. I want my life to go in that direction.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

- Garden work and general maintance:
I like to do physical work, especially outside, unless it involves carrying very heavy things. I worked on a farm and helped in an self-sufficient community.

- I can work with kids.
I have worked for several years as a babysitter, helped to teach for 3 month in a primary school and worked with kids as occupational therapist.

- Cleaning and organizing:
I worked in a holiday home, as a cleaner and helped organising various events at an event company.

- Working with people:
During my three-year training as an occupational therapist, I worked in various institutions, including an arts and crafts group in a workshop for disabled people, several months in a rehabilitation centre and then in two occupational therapy practices, one specialising in mental illness and the other in childhood disorders. I really enjoy working with people.

- creative projects:
I've already done quite a few creative projects, such as sewing, painting, pottery, woodworking and other DIY projects.

Overall, I am open to learning new things in many areas!
