Hello everyone!

We are a couple of travellers and nature lovers who feel very lucky to share the desire to travel and discover the world. We both are UE citizens.

We went on a year and a half trip to South America and Mexico that changed our lives and gave us the perspective that travelling and working are compatible in a dynamic way. That’s how, through Workaway, we met wonderful people who gave us the opportunity to know their home and we learned a lot.

In April 2023, we embarked ourselves on the adventure of living in Italy. We first arrived in Pisa, where a beautiful family welcomed us, and what started as a one-month workaway exchange turned into a wonderful experience that lasted a year.
In April 2024, we began an amazing 10 month experience with a family near Turin, we became very close and enjoyed the area so much that in 2025 we moved to Turin and worked there for a year.

These years have been so full of life, new places, wonderful people. We are willing to expand our horizons a little bit further!

We look forward to meeting you on our next adventure! :)

We are calm, curious and adaptable people, passionate readers and we love long walks. We love animals, specially dogs. We enjoy both natural surroundings and large cities, as we know how to get the most of both experiences.

Franco;
I have a degree in Social Communication, and I am a teacher. During my time in Italy i have worked in gastonomy, mainly as a waiter. I feel very comfortable working in gardening, and maintaining green areas. I have painted walls and furniture indoors and outdoors on multiple occasions. I have experience working as a tour guide. I have a driver’s license.

Erica;
I am a Yoga teacher, Vinyasa and Hatha. I have a great affinity with children, i have many years of experience in their care and i'm very interested in learning from them. I have always been close to music and have been curious about body expression, which has led me to experience a lot in this field. I sing since I was very young, trained in classical music for many years, and used to teach singing lessons. I am open to sharing my knowledge with you if it is of your interest. I really like cooking, and I am always interested in new flavors and new ways of cooking.

Siamo persone tranquille, curiose e adattabili, lettori appassionati e amiamo le lunghe passeggiate. Amiamo gli animali, soprattutto i cani. Godiamo sia di un ambiente naturale che delle grandi città, poiché sappiamo trovare i vantaggi di entrambe le esperienze.

Franco;
Sono laureato in Comunicazione Sociale e sono un insegnante. Durante la mia permanenza in Italia ho lavorato in gastronomia, sopratutto come cameriere. Mi sento molto a mio agio nel lavoro di giardinaggio e manutenzione di aree verdi. Ho dipinto pareti e mobili in interni ed esterni in molte occasioni. Ho esperienza di lavoro come guida turistica. Ho la patente di guida.

Erica;
Sono un'insegnante di Yoga, Vinyasa e Hatha. Ho una grande affinita con i bambini, ho molti anni di espereinza nella loro cura e sono molto interessata ad imparare da loro. Sono sempre stata vicina alla musica e incuriosita dell'espressione corporea, il che mi ha portato a sperimentare molto in questo campo. Canto da molto giovane, ho studiato musica classica per molti anni e insegnavo canto. Sono aperta a condividere le mie conoscenze con voi se siete interessati. Ho una grande affinità con i bambini, sono molto interessata ad imparare da loro e ho esperienza nella loro cura. Mi piace molto cucinare e sono interessata a imparare nuovi sapori e modi di cucinare.

Tra le nostre esperienze in Workaway;
Abbiamo lavorato con le famiglie in molte occasioni, ci siamo occupati della cura dei bambini, del giardinaggio e della manutenzione, abbiamo lavorato in ostelli, abbiamo imparato a lavorare con il fango, abbiamo costruito recinzioni, abbiamo prodotto formaggio artigianale, siamo stati attori di un progetto collettivo e persino traduttori nella giungla ecuadoriana.

Somos personas tranquilas, curiosas y adaptables, lectores apasionados y amamos las caminatas largas. Amamos a los animales, especialmente a los perros. Disfrutamos tanto de un entorno natural como de las grandes ciudades, ya que sabemos encontrar los beneficios de ambas experiencias.

Franco;
Estoy graduado en Comunicación Social, soy licenciado y profesor. Durante mi tiempo en italia he trabajado en gastronomía, principalmente como camarero. Me siento muy cómodo trabajando en jardinería, y mantenimiento de zonas verdes. He pintado paredes y muebles en interiores y exteriores en múltiples ocasiones. Tengo experiencia trabajando como guía turístico. Tengo licencia de conducir.

Erica;
Soy Instructora de Yoga, Vinyasa y Hatha. Tengo una gran afinidad con los niños, tengo muchos años de experiencia en su cuidado y me interesa mucho aprender de ellos. Siempre he estado cerca de la música y he sentido curiosidad por la expresión corporal, lo que me ha llevado a experimentar mucho en este campo. Canto desde muy joven, me formé en música clásica durante muchos años y solía dar clases de canto. Estoy abierta a compartir mi conocimiento con ustedes si es de su interés. Me gusta mucho la cocina, y me interesa conocer nuevos sabores y maneras de cocinar.

Dentro de nuestras experiencias en Workaway;
Hemos trabajado con familias en múltiples ocasiones, nos hemos ocupado del cuidado de niños, así como también de jardinería y mantenimiento, trabajamos en hostales, aprendimos a trabajar con barro, construimos cercas, hicimos queso artesanal, fuimos actores en un proyecto colectivo e incluso traductores en la selva ecuatoriana, entre otras.

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Join our family in a calm ...)

When we met via video call, it was an instant connection. Truth is, with Fede and Manu, it is difficult not to, because they are very "buena onda" people (a concept they discovered on their trip to South America and which fits them perfectly).
They have a lot of experience travelling and also in hospitality, so from the beginning we felt welcomed … read more as they were very generous and helpful, making us feel at home and part of their family. We have a lot in common in the way we see life, in fact we have improved a lot our Italian in the dozens of conversations we have had on many topics (a lot of politics, but also travel, literature, cinema, sports, etc.).
Their children, our little friends Martino and Adele, are two characters as sweet as they are funny. Spending time with them was always great, they treat us a bit like their uncles, a bit as their friends :), and we always end up laughing along with them... Even now, when we come visit them, they run happily to give us a hug, and tell us everything that happened in the last weeks. They are two amazing kids, and have a beautiful relationship with each other, we really love spending time with them!
During these ten months, we have shared many moments together: weekly dinners, birthdays, Christmas and New Year, and even a trip to the mountains. We were also able to spend time with their families and friends, and learn a lot about Italian culture and food.
Fede and Manu are very laid back and flexible concernig help hours, so we were able to do lots of things on our free time! The exchange is mainly helping with the care of the children, taking and picking them up from school, help Martino with homework, and sometimes some other domestic tasks, like a bit of gardening, but it is really light work. Also being with Frique and taking her for walks, which makes her so happy!
The space where we lived “la tavernetta” is very cozy and comfortable, perfectly equipped, and totally independent, on the floor below their house. Cambiano is a small and quiet hillside town only 20 minutes by train from Turin, a beautiful city in the heart of Piedmont, from which you are only a short train ride away from both the Alps or Milan.
This time together has been a very beautiful and enriching experience, and the friendship continues even though we are no longer downstairs neighbors, but friends living in Turin. Thank you for everything, we'll see you soon!

Siamo giunti alla fine del nostro soggiorno di un anno a Pisa e abbiamo solo parole di gratitudine per Francesca e Gabriele. Siamo molto felici che il ponte tra il nostro paese e un nuovo continente sia stato così semplice, cosa che non sarebbe stata possibile senza la loro gentilezza e disponibilità ad aiutarci sempre. Sono … read more persone aperte e flessibili, il lavoro è sempre consensuale (in un anno non abbiamo avuto nemmeno un problema o discussione) e lascia la possibilità di molto tempo libero per esplorare Pisa e la Toscana (una delle regioni più belle che abbiamo mai conosciuto e con così tanto da scoprire). Ci hanno aperto le porte della loro casa, facendoci parte della famiglia: abbiamo condiviso cene e pranzi, anche in momenti tipicamente familiari come Natale e Pasqua, o in vacanza in montagna.
Lara e Martino sono i bambini più incredibili, felici, curiosi e affettuosi, quindi trascorrere le nostre giornate con loro è stata un'opportunità per giocare ed imparare insieme. È davvero divertente passare del tempo con loro, perché sono molto immaginativi e hanno sempre voglia di giocare, sono sempre di buon umore e fin dal primo giorno ci hanno accolto in modo molto affettuoso. È stato un privilegio vederli crescere quest'anno e sappiamo che ci mancheranno molto, li vogliamo tanto bene!
Anche Duccio ed i gattini sono stati una bellissima compagnia, sono pelosi super teneri, giocherelloni e coccoloni.
L'appartamento in cui abbiamo vissuto è un posto molto confortevole, con tutti i servizi e le strutture, e avere una macchina a nostra disposizione è stato anche estremamente conveniente.
Grazie di cuore per questa esperienza bella e importante, ricorderemo sempre con molto affetto e un grande sorriso i nostri giorni pisani. Senza dubbio ritorneremo per incontrarci di nuovo, arrivederci!!

We have come to the end of our one-year stay in Pisa and have only words of gratitude for Francesca and Gabriele. We are very happy that the bridge between our country and a new continent was so easy, which would not have been possible without their kindness and willingness to always help us. They are open and flexible people, the work is always consensual (in one year we have not had a single problem or argument) and leaves the possibility of much free time to explore Pisa and Tuscany (one of the most beautiful regions we have ever known and with so much to discover). They have opened the doors of their home, making us part of the family: we have shared dinners and lunches, even at typically family times such as Christmas and Easter, or on vacation in the mountains.
Lara and Martino are the most amazing, happy, curious and affectionate children, so spending our days with them was an opportunity to play and learn together. It is really fun to spend time with them, because they are very imaginative and always want to play, always in a good mood and from the first day they welcomed us in a very loving way. It has been a privilege to watch them grow up this year and we know we will miss them very much, we love them so!
Duccio and the kittens have also been wonderful company, they are super tender, playful and cuddly.
The apartment we lived in is a very comfortable place, with all the services and facilities, and having a car at our disposal was also extremely convenient.
Thank you for this beautiful and important experience, we will always remember our Pisan days with much affection and a big smile. No doubt we will come back to meet again, see you!!!

Elisa y Ryan, fueron excelentes personas y anfitriones con nosotros, siempre abiertos y dispuestos a ayudar.
Los niños, Serena y Emilio, son absolutamente adorables, y nos divertimos muchísimo juntos.
Jorge, el abuelo argentino, fue muy amable con nosotros y disfrutamos mucho nuestras charlas culturales.
Omar, nuestro compañero de trabajo, es una gran persona y fue un placer trabajar a su lado, aprendimos mucho de él.
Viajar a veces hace que uno extrañe su hogar, y ellos desde el principio nos hicieron sentir como parte de la familia. Los días de trabajo, los días de excursión,las noches de música, arepas y charlas junto al fuego, la fogata, los juegos y canciones, esas montañas, todo quedará en el cajón de nuestros recuerdos.

Gracias infinitas por su calidez!

Travelling we had the chance to get to know many places and people, all of them memorable for some reason.
But sometimes magic happens, and the encounter is more real, you can get closer to people, and everything is richer.
These was one of those cases.
The place, Bobadillas, is a beauty in the colombian andes.
The work, help building a family's project, and sharing time with the children was super nice and enjoyable.
Elisa and Ryan were excellent people and hosts to us, always opened, and helpful.
The kids, Serena and Emilio, are absolutely adorable and we had an amazing time together.
Jorge, the argentinian granpa, was super kind and we enjoyed our cultural chats a lot.
Omar, our coworker, is a great person and was a pleasure to work side by side, we learned so much from him.
As travellers we sometimes miss our homes and they instantly made us feel part of the family.
Working days, hiking days, nights full of music, arepas and conversations next to the fire, campfire, songs and plays, all will be packed in our memories.

Thank you all so much for your warmness!
