We’re currently based at home in Turin, Italy but open to considering meaningful opportunities around the world.
Our last experience was a two-month break in lovely New Zealand, ended in feb2025

Beschreibung

We are an Italian couple passionate about travel and new experiences. Before the pandemic, Desiree (33) lived in Japan and Davide (37) in Australia. We are now based in Turin (Italy), but often travel around the country for work.

Last year, we took a two-month break in New Zealand, which was an amazing experience and reminded us how much we enjoy stepping out of our routine, connecting with new people, and experiencing different ways of living.

We’ve traveled together across Europe, Asia, and the USA, and we’re always curious to explore new places or return to the ones we loved most. While we’re currently home-based, we’re open to considering meaningful Workaway opportunities around the world when the right fit comes along.

We are happy to help with household chores or DIY projects. While we may not be experienced gardeners, we are fast learners and ready to get our hands dirty. We helped with painting and building too. Of course, we can also be your language buddies: we both speak fluent English, and Desiree is a certified Italian teacher for foreigners (she also speaks good Japanese!).
Davide used to work in IT and can be your go-to tech person.

We travel a lot around Italy for work, as we run an itinerant Japanese street food stand. It keeps us on the move most weekends and has given us hands-on experience in managing both a small business and a company in Italy. And yes, ingredients repairability allowing, we’d be more than happy to bring some Japanese dishes into your home too :)
Desiree also works as an HR consultant, so alongside our practical experience, we’re always happy to share insights on people, business, and organization, while also learning how things are done in different countries.

We don’t smoke and don’t have pets (but we happily take care of our friends’ ones!). In our free time, we enjoy board games and hiking in nature, another passion of ours is specialty coffee and its different brewing methods.

Was noch ...

In my free time I (Desiree) also like to make wax candles and go haunting for old books in second hand shops, while Davide has a small 3D printer and likes to make little gadgets and cute stuff, like dice or small raccoon figures, as it is my favourite animal but it is unfortunately illegal to own here in Italy.
