We love exploring cultures — through food, dance, and local life. We enjoy cooking, helping out, nature, animals, and learning by doing.

Beschreibung

We’re a couple from Egypt (Cairo) and Spain (Murcia), currently traveling.

We enjoy being outdoors, spending time in nature, doing sports, learning new things, and meeting people from different backgrounds. We’re on Workaway mainly to learn new skills, share good moments with new people, and connect in a meaningful way.

We like projects where we can learn by doing !

I (Irene) studied cinematography and started working in the industry before deciding to travel to Egypt through Workaway. There, I volunteered on different farms, helping with agriculture and animal care. I ended up staying for a couple of years, working as a Spanish teacher.

I (Salem) am a mechanical engineer. I grew up in the GCC area, surrounded by a rich mix of cultures and cuisines, and later moved to the United States to complete my bachelor’s degree got to meet experience even more diversity of culture. During that time, I also worked with the university’s international student office, helping new students from all over the world settle in and feel at home. After graduating I went on to work with a Spanish company and build projects as a project manager.

We look forward to sharing great moments and learning from each other!

Somos una pareja de Egipto (Cairo) y España (Murcia) que actualmente estamos viajando.

Nos gusta estar al aire libre, disfrutar de la naturaleza, hacer deporte, aprender cosas nuevas y conocer personas de distintos lugares. Estamos en Workaway sobre todo para aprender nuevas habilidades, compartir buenos momentos y conectar de forma auténtica.

Preferimos los proyectos donde se aprende haciendo y viviendo nuevas experiencias.

Yo (Irene) estudié cinematografía y empecé a trabajar en el sector antes de decidir ir a Egipto con Workaway. Allí colaboré en varias granjas, ayudando en tareas de agricultura y cuidado de animales. Al final me quedé un par de años, trabajando como profesora de español.

Yo (Salem) soy ingeniero mecánico. Crecí en la región del Golfo (GCC), en un entorno muy multicultural, y luego me mudé a Estados Unidos para estudiar la carrera, donde tuve la oportunidad de convivir con gente de muchos países. Durante ese tiempo también trabajé en la oficina de estudiantes internacionales de la universidad, ayudando a nuevos alumnos a instalarse y sentirse bienvenidos. Más adelante trabajé como gestor de proyectos para una empresa española.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Between the two of us, we have experience in project management, teaching, creative work, and public relations. We’ve organized events, supported international students, and taught Spanish to large groups from different cultures.

We love creative activities — from film and visual storytelling to painting, cooking, dancing, music, and website design. We enjoy practical work too, like gardening, working with animals, or helping with small building or maintenance tasks. One of us also has experience with water systems like automated lagoons, and has recently been working in the health field.

We both love learning by doing and enjoy offering help

Entre los dos, tenemos experiencia en gestión de proyectos, enseñanza, trabajos creativos y relaciones públicas, organización de eventos, apoyo a estudiantes internacionales y dado clases de español a grupos numerosos y multiculturales.

Nos encantan las actividades creativas —desde el cine y la narración visual hasta la pintura, la cocina, el baile, la música o el diseño web. También disfrutamos del trabajo práctico: jardinería, cuidado de animales o echar una mano en pequeñas tareas de mantenimiento o construcción. Uno de los dos también tiene experiencia con sistemas de agua, como lagunas automatizadas, y últimamente ha trabajado en el ámbito de la salud.
