Hi there!
I am taking a 9 month break from work starting september to explore a way of living that is more connected to nature. I'd be happy to learn more about gardening and preserving food.

Hi there!

My name is Ruben. I'm 29 years old.
I live and work in the vibrant student town of Ghent, Belgium, where people are always complaining about the weather 😁

Like most Ghentians i am open minded and into arts (both creating and experiencing)
I am also lucky to be a part of the lively dance and theater community that brings a lot of joy, warmth and togetherness to the city.

I lead a simple life. I have a part time job as a home textiles retailer which allows me to have enough free time to do what i love: painting, writing, dancing, walking and also just BEING😌
Most of my time, i spend alone. I'm quite a solitary person and enjoy the stillness of being with myself.
Nevertheless, I do very much enjoy company and conversation though, over a cup of tea, sharing a meal or walking. I like listening to your life anecdotes.
My preferred way of connecting with other people is through working or dancing together, reading the same book or sharing another activity that requires both our effort and attention.

In my upbringing practical knowledge was much higher praised than factual knowledge, both my parents didn't go to school, but they both had very creative minds and were excellent problem solvers.
Like them, I'm not very booksmart, don't read or watch the news and know very little about politics. I think i'm still trying to figure out a way to relate this buzzing, loud world without feeling overwhelmed by it.

I do read a lot, mostly books in the psychology section or fiction novels.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Ican use a sewing machine (used to make a lot of my own pants, curtains, cushions, etc.)
I paint with acrylics in my free time.
I know how to cook and can make some delicious and healthy vegetarian meals
Im used to being up on my feet and running round for hours.
I can probably teach you some basic contemporary dance or movement theater skills
I am patient

If you show me how something is done and help me along, i'm sure i'll be able to help out with a lot :)
