Beschreibung

Hey there! I'm Rebecka (28 y/o) from Berlin and just graduated from university. I studied to become a teacher, specializing in German and biology, and before I start my teacher training in February I would love to get to know Turkey better, including its culture and language.

I'm an open minded and optimistic thinking person and always interested in learning new things. I enjoy life in the vibrant city of Berlin just as much as I enjoy life by the sea and in nature, as I did as a snorkeling guide for several months this and last year in Italy and Croatia. I'm interested in doing sports like tennis, hiking, swimming and scuba diving. As my studies suggest, I enjoy working with children. But I would like to try my hand at gardening, harvesting, DIY projects or working on an animal farm as well.

I would like to improve my Türkçe skills (atm A2.1 level) because many children and their parents at the school where I currently teach as well as people living in my district have Turkish as their first language. I would love to be able to communicate with them in their first language.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

My native language is German, I speak English fluently, and I also know a little Turkish (A2.1). I'm happy to help with learning German and/or English. At my parents' house in the countryside, we have a garden where we also grow fruit and vegetables. I enjoy helping with the gardening just as much as I enjoy taking care of our cat Lucy.

I've already done work and travel in New Zealand, where I worked on a kiwi farm, in a wine factory and in a hostel (bar and housekeeping). In Germany, I worked in the hospitality industry for several years and have now been working as a German teacher at a Berlin school (seventh to tenth grade) for almost two years.

Over the past two years, I've spent 4,5 months working as a snorkeling guide at marine biology institutes in Italy and Croatia. During this time, I also earned my diving license (OWD). I have a silver lifeguard license and I'm familiar with the Mediterranean underwater world including most of its plants and animals as well as snorkeling and diving equipment.
