  Beschreibung

  Our backyard is a beautiful oasis in a warm, sunny climate and we are in need of people seasonally to help with heavy yard work. We are always happy to cook and share meals with guests and to provide local experiences of this great area where we live. Our yard is one of our joys and we have in the past enjoyed sharing it with guests from UK, France, Netherlands, Brazil, Germany and other parts of Canada. We have a rambunctious 116 lb puppy , getting new flock of chickens in May and the two of us who share our home and often have family and friends over to share a meal or a sunset. Our yard is filled with sunshine and music and is a wonderful place to spend time.
  Spring, summer and Fall we have lots happening in our yard and gardens and always looking for help with heavy lifting, gardening and projects big and small.
  This year we are needing some help with landscaping all spring and summer and greenhouse work from April to end of May.

  Apart from helping with English skills we can offer gardening, mechanical, carpentry and cooking skills. We live in a wonderful area rich in First Nations culture with many places to hike, bike or visit. Kamloops is in a unique location as it is at the intersection for travel to both the Fraser Valley and Vancouver or as the gateway to Highway 1 to Banff and Highway 5 to Jasper. It is about a 4 hour journey through the coastal range from Vancouver and on the edge of the Okanagan area of BC. The area offers warm and sunny days and a wonderful place to visit in the Spring, Summer or Fall.

  Work till the end of October may include gardening, moving dirt and large plants, working in greenhouse, planting or harvesting garden, soil prep for winter or spring, and other jobs required to maintain gardens and yard.

  This last few summers we have a few projects on the go, building a patio with bricks and pavers, re- doing our deck, replacing old raised beds in garden area, building gates and repairing fences. Lots of projects and working outside with our hands.

  Unterkunft

  We have a self contained basement suite that has a nicely equipped kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms and small living space. Shared laundry space is located in basement. We would be open to cooking and sharing meals, or providing produce and equipment for Workawayers to cook in own kitchen in downstairs suite. We have in the past enjoyed sharing the cooking, eating and clean up.

  We usually do yardwork in mornings and late afternoons. It can get very warm ( up to 40 degrees) in summer and would do shopping, appointments in early afternoons often going into town. There is a community bus service that goes in and out of town every hour from 7am - 7 pm daily that is cheap and reliable. Kamloops is a city with lots of interesting things to see and do and we go into town on a regular basis and often have taken guests to music and art events. We enjoy spending time daily in our gardens and start and end our days in the gazebo listening to music and the birds.
