Hello workaway community!

My name is Alex. this year I finished studying a sustainable development programme, and after almost eight years of lots of thinking, research and academia, I am looking outwards to the world, grounding in some practical community projects and connecting to curiosity and joy.

In 2025 i will be travelling, and and searching for different kinds of workaways that offer the chance to slow down my travels and connect with community oriented projects, ideally with an emphasis on connecting with land, ecology, and the environment. Since my focus during the studying was on a just energy transition, i would also be really excited to join projects explored alternative/decentralised energy systems.

I love moving my body and being outdoors, and find that i can get itchy feet if i'm inside or inactive for too long, some of my happiest states are found when i'm climbing, slacklining, camping and running in forests! These embodied are activities are balanced with an active mind and focused is also important to me I like playing chess, reading, and meditation.

As well as wanting to ground more in a spiritual practice, i am really curious to learn more about agriculture and eco-construction, and ecological art projects. Finding workaway projects that are grounded in community action, would be totally wonderful. :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I thrive and gain energy working with other people and in groups. During my studies I was part of several different societies and in the committee for a few of them. This required lots of organising, communicating and managing lots of people and events.

While my current gardening and carpentry skills may be somewhat limited currently, I would really like the opportunity to improve them (this might mean making some mistakes!)
