Hi, this is Lynn from Taiwan, a small, mountainous island in East Asia. I enjoy learning new things, meeting people from different backgrounds, and living simply and sustainably. I’ve been practicing a more minimal and low-impact lifestyle since I watched the documentary "The Minimalists" 8 years ago. I’d describe myself as adventurous, adaptable and calm. I enjoy thoughtful conversations with others, while also value some peaceful me-time to recharge.

Currently, I’m taking a career break after 10 years in international trade. I'd like to connect with local people to explore different lifestyle and culture, contributing my energy to home/farm projects ,and learning hands-on skills, such as organic gardening, composting, natural building, and food preservation.

I like hiking, gardening, or just being surrounded by nature. I also enjoy reading, cooking, sewing, up-cycling handcrafts, going to a musical or stand-up talk show. I do meditation everyday to refresh and find inner peace.

1. Gardening : I took care of a small balcony garden with fruits and herbs, and I’m familiar with basic planting, composting, and garden care. I’d like to learn more knowledge of organic farming and permaculture.

2. Practical help: I’m comfortable with cleaning, maintenance, and simple DIY projects, especially when it involves natural or recycled materials.

3. Cooking: I cook healthy meals almost every day and enjoy baking. I am happy to share Taiwanese dishes with you.

4. Hostel work: I worked part-time for a year in a hostel in Taiwan as receptionist and cleaner, so I’m used to welcoming travelers and keeping spaces tidy.

5. Childcare: I volunteered with indigenous communities for 2 years and worked at summer camps during college. I enjoy spending time with kids.

6. Marketing: I help brands create clear, engaging content that connects with the right people and builds audience trust. I enjoy creating videos, social media posts, brochure and optimizing the website.

7. Other skills: Basic sewing, house painting, curtain installation, furniture fixing.

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Outdoor in magical Connemara, ...)

I had a wonderful stay at Beth’s cozy house for 6 weeks. The homemade food, bread, and fresh salad from the garden were some of the best I'd had in a long time. I often ate more than I should, because everything tasted so good. I still remember the flavors and miss them sometimes.

My room in the main house was clean, spacious, and comfortable.… read more From the big window I could see the lake changing its color every day, endless green fields, sheep grazing and luckily the new born lamb on my last day. The place allowed me to slow down and I slept very well throughout my stay.

My role was managing social media content across platforms, and aligning visual direction, testing formats to improve reach and retention. Beth was organized and structured from day one, which made it clear to follow and efficient to get started. She gave me real freedom to make decisions, which I truly appreciated. The work was engaging, and it was satisfying to see the results move.

Although Beth had a busy schedule, she made time on weekends to show me the West of Ireland. We hiked along the lake, visited the abbey and iconic castle in Cong, folklore museum, and did a classic Connemara road trip to see the most unique part of Ireland. Beth was knowledgeable and generous to share the culture, history and people of Ireland and stories behind each place that gave these trips more depth and fun!

Beth has rich cross-cultural and life experiences, and I learned something new from her almost every day, from food, psychology, neuroscience, culture, art, career, AI, health, family, and more. We also spent time talking about her childhood, her life choices, and how she got to where she is. She has gone through real challenges and kept moving, which I truly respect. I think those experiences are part of what makes her warm and quietly strong. She is also a talented artist. Her artworks have a calm, comforting power, just like what she brings to people as a therapist.

Being in that environment inspired me to try watercolor painting myself. Beth has a wide range of art supplies and welcomed us to use them. She shared some techniques with me and even took me to an art supply shop so I could get a travel set to continue painting in my trips. Finding a new interest in watercolor here was one of the best gifts of my stay.

In the last 2 weeks, 3 other Workawayers joined. We had good conversations, advanturous hikings, and visited the pub with Irish live music together. Meeting these amazing people made me think seriously about hosting my own Workaway project one day.

Living close to nature, with vegetable gardens, homemade food, creative work, in slower pace, this experience showed me this kind of life actually exists. I'd recommend her project to anyone who enjoys nature, healthy food, art, rich cultural experience, and is willing to contribute, whether through the gardening or marketing projects.

Thank you Beth, for this unforgettable experience. I hope you stay healthy, happy, and have the time to keep making arts.
