I love painting! I am a visual artist, muralist and therapeutic art practitioner but really I love creating! I love cooking, gardening, having meaningful connection and of course, cats!

Beschreibung

Hi I'm Katy. I'm a 39 year old visual artist and creator from rural USA, where I grew up exploring the creeks and woods, developing a relationship with the nature world. I love spending time in nature, hiking, foraging and identifying plants, animals and mushrooms. I have always had plants and animals in my life and love building relationships with new plants, animals and other people who love caring for them and this beautiful planet we call home!
Art is my passion and life work, I am constantly looking for new opportunities to create and build upon my practice of painting, photography and writing...to name a few. :-) I am also a yoga instructor, and believe in the healing power of movement, and love to incorporate sound bath, calm guided meditation and herbal scents into my practice. I have a degree in anthropology and am certified to teach English, I think the best way to learn is by doing things you love, having interesting activities and subjects and immersion.
I have always enjoyed travel and I enjoy meeting other interesting people from around the world and having cross cultural discussions and am seeking to improve my Portuguese and Spanish while also traveling to new places where I can create a positive impact on the environment, the people and the world. as well we learn more about the cultures and people I work with during the process.
I am hoping to learn as much from my experiences as I share and hope this will be an enlightening experience for me as an artist and a human!

I have always dreamed of speaking many languages well. So far I speak Portuguese at a conversational level and spent lots of time in Brazil in the last two years but before that had no prior knowledge of Portuguese language. Spanish I studied in school and have some fair knowledge of verbage and grammar but no immersion in the language so it needs improvement. French and Arabic I have some knowledge of but beginner level.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I am a visual artist with over 10 years experience painting with acrylics on canvas and small scale murals and signs. I can paint just about anything and painting and art is my passion and my job. I also facilitate therapeutic art, especially for those with disabilities or depression but also anyone going through a hard time or just needing a date night.
I have a knowledge of plants and gardening as I grew up gardening and foraging. I have studied some herbalism and am a master naturalist. I know about good farming practices and greenhouse knowledge.
I have experience working with children, the elderly, people with disabilities and animals (cats are my favorites :-)
Oh and I can cook, especially baking but love to learn from others on how they cook traditional dishes.
Certified yoga instructor. Certified to teach English as a foreign language.
My Portuguese is conversational level, Spanish is somewhere between beginner and conversational but I seek to improve both of them.

I love dancing, reading, writing and spending time with sweet cats. I also feel grounded in nature, walking on the beach or anywhere near water and love to paint!!
