Beschreibung

Hi! I’m Katharina, 23 years old, living in Germany.

I’m currently studying Communication Design, and creativity is a big part of who I am, whether that’s drawing, crafting, building things or getting lost in little handmade projects. Because of my internship I haven’t had much time for hands-on creative work lately, so I’d love to reconnect with that side of myself while staying in Canada.

Why Canada speaks to me

Canada has been on my mind since I was about 12 or 13. The nature, the atmosphere, the stories I’ve heard and all the shows set in Canada that I’ve watched over the years have always drawn me in. Instead of taking a short vacation, I want to spend more time there to learn about the culture, meet people, grow personally and experience something different from my everyday life in Germany. I like Germany, but I’m ready for new things.

Some things about me

As a person, I’m open-minded, reliable, clean and organized. I get along well with kids, and while I don’t have a driver’s license, I’m helpful, patient and happy to learn whatever a host might need. I enjoy quiet moments, but I also love to laugh and connect with people. Board games and silly group games are something I really enjoy, and when I’m with friends we usually end up playing something fun or just have deep talks.

I’m a bit on the alternative side. I love dyeing my hair, I have a few tattoos and piercings, and I enjoy everything creative and unique. My music taste is mostly indie and melancholic independent artists, with a bit of alternative and rap mixed in.

In general, I’m looking for a place where I can learn, grow, help out, be creative again and experience the beauty that has fascinated me about Canada for so many years. I’m excited to meet new people and see life from a fresh perspective.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Creativity is a big part of who I am, and I love working with my hands. I can paint on paper, canvas and even walls, and I really enjoy repainting or refreshing furniture. I crochet, craft and sew, and I’ve altered and repaired quite a few of my own clothes over the years. I’ve also made a handmade book and recently created a short comic, which is something I’m very proud of.
Through my Communication Design studies, I have solid skills in graphic design, especially in editorial design and illustration.

I’m naturally very handy and enjoy anything that involves building, fixing or making something. I’m comfortable with DIY projects, small repairs and creative upcycling. Working with tools doesn’t scare me at all and I love the feeling of completing something with my own hands.
I’m also organized and detail-oriented. I clean thoroughly, I enjoy structuring things and I am definitely a chronic list-maker. I rarely forget anything and I genuinely like keeping spaces tidy and calm.

I grew up around animals, especially cats, and I’ve taken good care of my own pets, including a hamster when I was younger. I feel very comfortable around most animals and I enjoy spending time with them. I’ve never lived with a dog myself, but I get along well with dogs and I’m not afraid of them.

I’m a big plant lover and I take excellent care of my indoor plants. I grew up with a garden and used to plant my own vegetables, so I’m familiar with gardening tasks and enjoy working outside. Watering, weeding, planting or simply helping to maintain a garden is something I genuinely like doing.

I’m very reliable and always willing to help where needed. I keep spaces clean, I organize well and I’m good at noticing what needs to be done without being asked. Whether it’s cooking simple meals, cleaning, laundry or general household tasks, I’m happy to contribute.

My native language is German and I speak English very well. I watch and read most things in English, so I feel comfortable communicating. I’ve never officially taught German, but I’m confident that I could support someone who wants to practice it.
