Hello everyone, I’m Jade, a 25-year-old trying to make life a little less ordinary.

So far, my life has been quite standard — primary school, secondary school, university, then straight into working life after graduation. I know being able to live this kind of stable life is already a privilege, but deep down, I’ve always wanted something more extraordinary. I want to experience different ways of living, meet people from different backgrounds, and try things I’ve never done before — whether that’s gardening, animal care, house sitting, helping around a farm, or simply learning how people live in another part of the world.

I’d say I’m quite adventurous. I love outdoor activities, adventure parks, climbing, hiking, and anything that lets me explore nature a little more. I’ve always wanted to do more wild camping too. One of my favourite things is looking at the sky — stars, sunsets, meteor showers, galaxies… there’s just something magical about them. Chasing meteor showers is genuinely one of my hobbies.

I’m easy-going, open-minded, and quite independent. I started living alone at 16 because of education, so I learned pretty early how to take care of myself and adapt to new environments quickly. I can be a little quiet at first, but give me a day or two and you’ll probably see a completely different side of me.

For me, Workaway is not just about travelling cheaply — I really want to experience real local life, help people in meaningful ways, and create memories that feel different from everyday routine.

Looking forward to meeting kind people, learning new things, and hopefully sharing some great experiences together :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I speak English, Mandarin, and Malay, and I’m currently teaching myself Japanese as well. I’ve been living in the United Kingdom for the past 6 years, so if you’d like to practise English together, I’d be more than happy to! And if you’re interested in Mandarin, I’d also love to teach you my mother tongue.

I love baking too — especially cakes and cookies. I can cook as well, although definitely not Michelin-star level haha. So yes, if you ever need an extra pair of hands in the kitchen, I can definitely help :)

I also really enjoy driving. To me, it gives a sense of freedom — being able to go wherever you want and discover places along the way. I’ve done self-driving trips in Japan before and will be doing another one in Iceland this July.

And of course, I absolutely love animals. They are honestly some of the cutest beings in the world to me. I have a dog myself (I used to have two, but sadly one passed away earlier this year). I’m used to feeding them, showering them weekly, cleaning up after them, and simply spending time with them.

Another thing I enjoy is documenting my life — through photos, videos, but mostly through journaling. I love capturing little moments and memories, because one day when I look back at them, they bring me back to that exact time in life and remind me that maybe life isn’t so bad after all.
