Hellohello!

I’m Flora, and I’m finally planning my trip to New Zealand as I've wanted for a long time to backpack there. But somehow I ended up falling in love with the very first stop on my trip, Berlin, where I’ve been living and working as a cook for the past nine years.

This summer, I took a break from kitchens to work as a receptionist at a small, very green hostel nestled among fruit trees. I became deeply attached to the garden, watching the trees bloom, bear fruit, and change with the seasons was a quiet joy and a beautiful reminder of how much I value being close to nature. The hostel’s owner has built everything himself, from the walls to the furniture, and his dedication and creativity really inspired me. It reignited a long-standing desire to contribute to hands-on, community-driven projects.

I’m also a passionate forager. Spending time outdoors, learning about plants, and exploring their uses has become an important part of my life. I find real satisfaction in physical, purposeful work, especially when it connects me to the land and to the food we eat.

So after all these years living a busy city life and constanly being reminded of how much wanted to travel around I decided to give that old desire its space to live and breathe. Here I come!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

As a trained cook, I have been working in busy kitchens for the past four years, so aside from cooking I can come up with creative solutions, work hard (both alone and in teams) and learn fast! I am also very good at cleaning and organising...
I also have a bit of experience with gardening and I am pretty good with animals, they usually like me straight away and I love being around and caring for them.
I can drive, even though I don't have a german license, only a brazilian one.
I am a curious and interested person, opened to learning whatever knowledge people have to offer, and also sharing whatever I can, so I'd say that with a bit of guidance I can do pretty much everything.

Was noch ...

When I am off I like doing little cooking experiments, baking, writing, reading and going out to the nature. Chilling at the park or lake is a must when the weather is nice, usually with some lovely homemade snacks and books. As for body movement I always find it nice to do some yoga, go for walks, cycle or just stretch randomly with some music, always loved playing ball games, board games, cards...
