Hi there!
My name is Fleur and I come from a small town in The Netherlands. I am 21 years old and I have lived on a dairy farm my whole life, so I'm used to working at the farm and being around animals. I've got a big heart for them and spending time outdoors. It’s been a good two years now that I’ve been using Workaway and it’s given me so much. Through Europe and Asia in different countries and through different jobs I’ve learned a lot and met so many incredible people, which is why my journey continues …
I would say that I'm a reliable and laid-back person, so I'm very much open for anything and anyone and I like to see where things take me. The future is undecided.
So, what started as a gap year has now become my world tour more or less … After a year of studying Hotel Management I decided that I wasn't ready for university and said to myself that I'm going to learn in a different way. So now I’m in travel university ;) It's amazing to look back on the things that I've learned and I can't wait to explore more.

Being raised on a farm has taught me a lot about animal care and creative thinking, in a way that we always find solutions somewhere, somehow for things to work out.
I started as a waitress in a small restaurant in my hometown a few years ago where I still work from time to time. I also write a lot, just for myself for now, but I'd love to help out in this area, as it's my hobby. Besides that, I’ve done a lot of different jobs throughout the years. Working as a nanny, on a farm, renovating and building houses, teaching etc. So if I can help with anything I already have knowledge about then that’s great and otherwise I’m a very curious person, so I love learning new things. Nothing is too crazy.

We had a great time with Fleur building a Cafe on the rock facing the ocean. She spent time with us for a month in our beautiful island. She’s very independant, smart and easy going. She always love to try something new. Shaka Cafe with amazing Seaview and Lepak Pondok Beach Cafe now is running beautifully from her little touch while she was here.… read more

Fleur stayed at the farm for about 3 weeks. She very helpful, always ready to learn and follows all instructions.
She is one of youngest volunteer that we have had, but don't go by her age. She has quite bit of farm experience. What she doesn't have experience of she covers it up with her enthusiasm to learn.

On my way to the south I found Teresa’s place and helped out there for a little while. Going through Portugal really makes you aware of how poor the animal welfare is, so it’s beautiful to see how much work is put into this place to give these dogs a better life. I spent almost three weeks in Rutland with two other really sweet volunteers and it was so nice to get to know them as well.
