Hey there, I'm Martha from Germany. I went to Canada in August 2018 to work and travel. My original plan was to stay one year but you know how it is when you make plans... ;) I stayed three month there, the winter I spend in Jamaica and end of February I came back home to Germany. In Canada and Jamaica I did different workaways and became a fan of it. You make experiences of all kinds that nobody can ever take away from you.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Before my journey started I studied in a dual system (study and work) in the administration of Hamburg, the name of the subject was "Public Management". But I found out that's not the place where I want to work in my future.
I prefer another type of contact to people: more close and individual and caring. Further I need to do something with my hands not head all the time and the most important thing I missed: being outside!! I did not finished it, i cancled. But I still have some skills that fits to that education e.g. I'm painstaking, careful and accurate. So if you give me something to do you can be sure it'll be done. :)

I grew up on a farm. My father was a shepherd and we also have had dogs, cats, chicken, horses, pigs, ... So I know about farm life, how hard it can be sometimes on the one hand but how peaceful and thankful the work with animals can be on the other hand.

In the age of 18 til 22 I was part of a youth initiative that creates a skaterpark (you use it with skateboards, not inline-skaters) in our hometown. Okay... not just part of, I have been the head of the group for a long time. The project got bigger and bigger and we even organised two skatecamps together with skateaid, a worldwide foundation and organisation. Today it isn't just a place for skating, it's more like a colourful spot for the youth (and everybody else!) in Boizenburg (that's my hometown:)) with graffiti, music events, skating and just hanging out together. So I have some leadership and communication skills and like to create great stuff with great people! :)
