I never wanted to leave!!! Iñaki and Maggie are so special- they made me feel so at home and invited me into their daily routine. I helped them in the garden when it was nice weather, raking, trimming, weeding & sweeping, and inside the house as well such as organizing cupboards and waxing wood. with plenty of tea breaks of course (I miss those!!)

If you read this as a potential workaway in this home, be prepared for fun, being taken along to events (family, friends, social and cultural etc.), being part of the household, taking responsibility, and learning. My tasks included running the guest rooms, yard work, general cleaning in and around the house, cooking every once in a while, taking the dog Iuna out - fair work for what you get in return (which is kindness and positivity and an experience living with a wonderful family)!

The location is handy for visiting the local area, beaches and little towns by car or bicycle, and the train station in Irún for further distances is also handy, for example San Sebastián. This time I have had the pleasure of being with Iñaki's family. Wow, that would be the experience to define my stay. It is a very welcoming family, friendly, organized, hardworking and they make you feel like one of the family. I have been two weeks, but each day was better than the previous one. The work was mostly in the garden but more than a job it is a hobby. Regarding accommodation, it is a beautiful house, quiet, near the beach with access to other sites around. … read more “having” to walk Aiuna 3 times a day. Aiuna is such a perfect dog! She got our prize “Best dog of 2019” and we are gonna always miss her! Out of the working hours, we were always willing to talk and stay together with them, talking and sharing great stories and experiences. We feel that even though we are not part of their blood family, we are in the same Cosmic Family! They took us to all the places they could and they did everything possible to make us happy and confortable. Also gave us advices about the place and helped me figuring out some of my research on my ancestors path.
