Hey!
I'm Clara and I'm from Tyrol, a very beautiful part of Austria with a lot of mountains. I grew up in a rather small village close to the regional capital Innsbruck. I have been living and studying in Vienna for the last 3 years and as much as I love the city, I do miss being outside in nature on a regular basis and hope to spend a lot of time outdoors in my summers.
I'm an open-minded and flexible person and I love to try out and learn new things! I'm interested in wildlife, sustainability, farming, cooking, being with kids, music, horses and other farm animals and languages. I played the cello for almost 12 years and I also play the guitar which I have been playing a lot recently. I love being outside and I'm part of a wilderness school and help with summer camps for children every year. As we have the Alps just at the doorstep, I love skiing in winter and hiking in summer. I will always jump in every lake and river, no matter how cold it is.
I am a very active person and used to hard work, I am diligent and I will always do my best, no matter what I'm doing. As I'm the oldest of four children, I can say that I learnt early to be a reliable and independent person.
I always hope to pick up a little bit of the language of the country I'm travelling to or to better my existing knowledge of the language.
I already have some experience volunteering.
In 2018 I spent my summer holidays working on a permaculture farm in England which was a really nice experience. I also did a lot of babysitting, household work and cooking.
After finishing school I spent 10 months with a big family in the north of Norway which I absolutely loved! I also organized that via workaway. I gained a lot of experience there especially in cooking for many people, helping with the kids, looking after goats and horses and to be helpful wherever needed. I visited them again in summer 2023 for a month.
In 2022, I spent september in Sweden with a lovely family, working in the garden, harvesting vegetables and preparing the garden for the winter. I loved spending so much time outside and jumping into the lake everyday.
Last summer, I spent 3 weeks helping a family at a guest house in Tusheti, Georgia. The region is very remote but absolutely beautiful. I helped with preparing rooms and food, serving the food and everything else that came up. I enjoyed getting to know their culture and also at the same time, I got to talk to many international guests as well.
I can honestly say, I have only had very good experiences with volunteering and I am very much looking forward to my next adventure!Interessengebiete

Was könntest du arbeiten?
I have a lot of experience with children. I have 3 younger brothers (now 21, 17, 7) and I have also helped with outdoor camps for children for the last 8 years. I also worked with the local kids in my theatre group. During my gap year in Norway I also looked after the children in the afternoons after school.
I am used to helping in the kitchen as well as cooking on my own. While staying in Norway, I always cooked for the whole family (10 people) and I really enjoyed it. I'm always looking for new inspiration and new recipes!
I love working with animals, especially horses. I have experience with horse riding, I always took lessons growing up until I was 18. When I stayed in Norway for a year I looked after the two family horses. I also looked after the goats there, especially during spring when they all had their kids and some had to be fed with a bottle.
Other than that, I'm not afraid to work and/or to get my hands dirty. Especially now that I'm studying a lot for university I find that I enjoy working with my hands and getting things done.
I'm also always eager to learn new things!Alter
