Being in authentic spaces speaking spanish! Love seeing local and family life. Exploring nature, a countries history, food, athletics, and really just conversation.

Hello! My goal at this point of my life is to basically understand and see how other people live and do it in a way that is beneficial to these spaces. I went to Spain for ten months this past year and it was wonderful, and I had some chances to travel. It felt as if there were two typical experiences I had in those moments. Some where I felt I was moving through solely tourist spaces and having interactions catered to comfort, all the while contributing economically in a way that felt it was at times harmful to the city and its people. The other experiences were ones where I was lucky enough to know people who brought me into special places and showed me their life. I'm looking for experiences like the latter!

I love people! Having the chance to hear someone tell me about their passions, motivations in life, their country, and traditions are very exciting for me. I love to read and discuss ficiton and non fiction with anyone that is willing and interested to listen. Philosophy especially! I like to stay away from tech, play boardgames with people I love, listen to music together, really whatever I can to have quality time with people. I'm a very active person, it really makes me happy to do some sort of sport or exploration on foot each day.

I'm very interested to try Workaway and although i'm just starting out on the site I have had some experiences adapting to new environments like this and staying with families. I had the chance to do this in India this past year as well as travels to Germany, Morocco, and all throughout Spain. Nothing is more fulfilling to me then making good connections with people and I hope to do that here :)

I love spanish! I grew up in California and hope to return their someday and be able to make a career/life in spanish. I would say I am close to a C1! Just haven't had as many speaking opportunities since I came home so I am a little rusty but I hope to get to South America and continue practicing!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I can speak spanish fluently at this point, although being back in the United States for a little I may be a little rusty! I have had two years of experience in fast food work at In-n-Out burger in San Diego. My skills from that being food prep, customer interaction, P.O.S. experience, etc. I did fieldwork for an environmental restoration company for three summers where I planted, maintained and installed irrigation, and helped to organize plant shipments. I also have two years of experience working in schools, one of those as an english assistant teacher in Spain and the other as a substitute teacher here in California. I really enjoy physical work and am quick to learn, but overall I would say my biggest skills like in building relationships and working with others.
