This was only possible due to Colton's flexibility and acceptance of individuality combined with his excitement in making progress. I would undoubtedly return to Colton and Dave's property, hopefully for a longer amount of time, to continue working on the house remodeling and hydroelectric implementation. If there is one reason you should choose this Workaway, it's for the bonefires at night. There are really nice chill vibes, I even had the occasion to celebrate my 20th birthday in some hot springs in Sierraville (Sierra city?) with the others workawayers. I usually don't leave any feedback, just for saying how much my time there was good!

I always felt respected and trusted, even with things I had no experience in. Colton is so laid back and kind, and great at cooking too. I felt very close to everyone there in a short space of time. We got taken to interesting places on some of our days off, which was such an immense level of generosity. The property itself is beautiful with oodles of potential. I would say it is important to manage your own punctuality, if you know what you need to get on with for the day. The schedule varies depending on the weather as it starts go get cooler, but, there is also the option to go mushroom picking after work sometimes! … read more off-grid semi-solitude, I enjoyed the company of the people MUCH more. Colton and Dave are super laid-back, as long as you put in a hard day's work! I for sure enjoyed the work in the hot sun, and felt like I earned the time off that I got after my 4-5 hours. Not to mention, I learned a lot about construction, carpentry and the fascinating story behind the property and the area out there. Most days I didn't even want to disappear after work, but instead hang out with the guys and other workawayers! The people were cool, the food was aplenty and the fires were the wildest (without being actually wild). I feel like I made some lifelong friends and I can't wait to go back... probably very soon!

And a but further on the property is the lake, where the yurts will be. In your free time you can walk around the property, relax along the lake, read, or make some hike or drive in the region. Colton and his girlfriend are great cooks, so you will be well fed.
