Hi! I’m Alma, 32, from Germany, and I recently started a new chapter by coming to Canada on a Working Holiday adventure. 🇨🇦

I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while, so at some point I decided to stop thinking about it and just go for it. 😅 I’m curious, open-minded and reliable, and I love travelling, discovering new places and meeting different people.

I’m probably a little more introverted when I first meet someone, but once I feel comfortable, I’m usually quite social, talkative and always up for a good conversation, a spontaneous plan or a little adventure. I also have a pretty dry sense of humour and don’t take myself too seriously. 😊

I really enjoy being outside and exploring my surroundings. I’m the kind of person who goes out for a “short walk” and somehow comes back three hours and 15 km later. 😂 But I also love quiet evenings, good food, cooking, coffee, music and just having a nice and relaxed atmosphere around me.

Before coming to Canada, I worked in office administration in Germany, so I’m used to being organised, responsible and getting things done. I’m happy to help with practical things around the house, cooking, cleaning, gardening, animals or whatever else might be needed. I’m also quite independent and don’t need to be entertained all the time, but I really enjoy being part of a friendly household and spending some time together.

For me, Workaway is not just a way to find a place to stay. I’d really like to experience everyday life in Canada a little more, meet people, learn new things and hopefully be able to give something back while I’m here.

Was noch ...

In my free time, I enjoy doing yoga, cooking and discovering new places. I also really enjoy board and card games, especially when it turns into a funny evening with other people. 😊

I’m also a big coffee lover and enjoy finding nice cafés wherever I go. When I’m having a quieter day, I like listening to music or podcasts, watching a good series or just having a relaxed evening.

In general, I’m curious about new things and enjoy learning from other people, whether it’s a new recipe, a new skill or simply getting to know a different way of living.
