Hi my name is Alex I'm 24 years old and I live in Melbourne Australia. I love being social and being around different people. I'm always looking to learn from others as well as sharing my experiences and lessons. I love helping people and working with a community to build something together. I'm currently wanting to travel and go to new and interesting places and find adventure along the way as well as positively contributing to the places I'm travelling. I'm open to trying anything and love working both with a team and by myself! Currently I'm a bartender and enjoy working in a fun and dynamic environment that is always different. For the future I'm wanting to continue to explore Australia and the world, and then to eventually begin working as a social support worker providing support to those in my community who need it most and work to help better the space around me. I'm a fun loving person who loves to laugh and smile and want to spread as much of that happiness as possible.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I currently work as a bartender at a busy Melbourne bar. I engage with many different people everyday and provide excellent customer service in a stressful environment. I have also spent time volunteering in Melbourne at a homeless shelter, providing meals, cooking in the kitchen, running the reception and delivering food from supermarkets. I absolutely love this work and is the what I wish to do in my future. I have also volunteered at a festival in the north of Australia called Woodford, I helped build all of the fences for the festival and prepare the land for the festival, this was very physical and hands on work and I really enjoyed it. I also have a lot of experience working with children, I have always done babysitting for friends and family and absolutely love playing, teaching and being around children. I also have first aid and cpr training as well as basic lifeguard training. I listen to instructions well, have a very good work ethic and am willing to do whatever is needed while also having fun and enjoying myself.

Was noch ...

I love being outside in nature, it is difficult when living in a city but I spend as much time as I can outside. This includes hiking, mountain bike riding and camping. I grew up near the beach so love being in the water, I'm not very good at surfing but I still enjoy doing it. I like going fishing and I have my scuba diving license and have gone diving around Australia and in Thailand. I enjoy going to musical festivals and listening to electronic music. I'm not very good at cooking but love being in the kitchen and eating delicious food. I like playing chess and card games and enjoy reading, particularly fantasy books. I would love to learn more about sustainability and eco-friendly practices while on workaway as well as more practical skills like woodworking and general maintenance. It would be great to one day leave the city and live on my own self sufficient farm and this is a goal I have for the future. I would love to leave from my travels knowing I have done something positive and left my mark on the people and land in a good way.
