Hi! My name is Jaya and I am an 18 year old Aussie who has lived overseas for my whole life. I graduated from school in June and in February I will leave my home, Hong Kong for Brisbane where I will be studying Law and Politics at university. I am very excited to use the time I have until university to travel and explore, during a time where I am not limited by my career or schooling - It's a once in a lifetime chance to take off and do something I have never had the opportunity to.

I've worked as a volunteer coach at a non profit called RUN for about 2 years now where I teach kids in sport as well as guide them with school work. I enjoy watching the kids learn and grow so much, so would be happy to do so in the future!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

At home in Hong Kong, I graduated from a British International secondary school where I studied A Levels in English Literature, Geography, and History, achieving all A's last June! I was also head student, a way I could deeply involve myself in my community.
Until university I've been working as front of house at a resteraunt, developing my ability to work with people and problem solve on my own.
Having grown up visitng my grandma's farm in rural Australia every summer throughout my upbringing country life is something I am accustomed to. When I go back I enjoy horse riding and gardening!

Was noch ...

Having lived in large cities my whole life strangely I find so much joy being in the outdoors and countryside. Having spent every summer at my grandma's farm in rural Australia it's not so hard to believe. After a recent family trip up to the beautiful highlands of Scotland I can confidently say it's amazing countryside is my favourite spot on earth.

My other passion is politics, which I dream to be able to pursue as a future career. This passion has shaped how I view the world, particularly regarding the welfare of our environment and society. Being the child of two journalists political discussion was a part of many dinner table discussions so its not surprising.
