Age: 19 | From: Kuopio, Finland | Languages: Finnish (native), English (fluent), basic Spanish and Swedish, beginner Italian and French

Hi! I’m Emma from Finland. I’m taking a gap year before university and I’m excited to volunteer and travel in Europe this winter. I’m looking for placements of 4–8 weeks, starting from December, and I’m flexible with dates to fit the needs of the host.

About me:
I’m open-minded, positive, and highly motivated. I love working with people, animals, and nature. I’m eager to help with meaningful tasks, learn new skills, and experience different cultures on a deeper level. I enjoy both social interaction and quiet time on my own, and I adapt easily to new environments. I’m always willing to help and I take joy in making others feel comfortable, welcome, and at home.

Skills & Experience:
- Physical work: gardening, lawn mowing, weeding, basic repairs, painting, helping with renovations, over a year of experience as a cleaner
- Animal care: cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, horses, cows, sheep — I get along with all animals and enjoy working with them
- Child care: experience with toddlers and children of all ages
- Volunteering experience: music festivals (helping with guest services, ticketing, and maintenance), volunteering in a French castle (gardening, animal care, cleaning, painting, cooking)
- Work experience: food preparation and service (Kotipizza & Rolls, cleaning, assisting in maintenance tasks

Was könntest du arbeiten?

For three summers I worked in a gas station where I worked in the kitchen. Mostly I made fast food, bu there I learned much about working in a fast but accurately, there was not place for mistakes in the busy hours.

For almost a year with my studies I have worked in cleaning company, cleaning respected restaurants dining areas, a lot moving cleanings and house cleanings. I have learned to clean fast but carefully.

I have some customer service experience selling tickets in festival.

I’ve also grown up around animals like cats, chickens, and ducks, and I get along well with dogs too. I’m able help with cleaning, cooking, animal care or whatever needs doing.

Was noch ...

In my free time I love going for a run or doing some exercise, but I’m just as happy relaxing and spending time with people. I enjoy chatting, sharing stories, and playing games together — Monopoly and UNO are some of my favorites!
I also just love the little things like swimming or watching the sunset. So just being outdoors and with nice people, I will love it!
