Wow, what a little hurricane Matilda is. Do not let her age fool you she works harder than most 19-year-olds and is a bundle of Positive, delightful energy Matilda was an absolute delight to have around. I truly have great admiration for her. She has always working towards personal growth and looks for the positive in everything. She is in love with life. Matilda was a go-getter, not one to ever sit around idly. That went for her free time as well as her helping hours. She went golfing almost every day, she attended a rodeo, the Armstrong fair, went biking, and hiking to the movies, on and on. I hope she enjoyed staying here as much as I enjoyed having her here. I hope we will stay in touch. I wish her all the best, and if you are fortunate enough to cross paths with Matilda. You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Matilda for everything you did.

My experience with Sara, Roland and their family at the farmstead was nothing less than lovely and so much more. Thanks to my lucky timing and the easy and straightforward comunication I was able to come the second day! With a warm welcome and a good nights sleep I got introduced to the the family regime, given free choice of preference, instantly felt like a part of the family and all that never changed! The work it self was very interesting and diverse, with the help from the kids, the epic views at the beginning of fall and constant reminders to take a break and not work overtime... it was hard not to be amazed by the romanticism of it all. On a sunday I was lied to and told there would be no work for me and hence "forced" to go for a hike of which there is an abundance in the area only to come back to Roland working. One day Sara even took me with her friends to a local art exhibit, coffee and desert after and then to her mother's beautifull house which is just on the other side of the hill, but I wouldn't dare spoil the surprise of what that is like. The children are amazing as well, but you'll find that out on your own not only at true family dinners, but every chance you give them. I missed them as soon as I had left (granted, the family gathering to tell me goodbye played it's part haha). Over all lovely is an understatement. It was an introduction of Switzerland I couldn't have hoped for. All my love, I hope to come back one day

This was my very first Workaway experience, and honestly, everything was beyond perfect. Roman and Tereza are the warmest and kindest hosts you could ever hope to meet. From day one, they welcomed me into their home like family. I got to enjoy so many delicious Czech dishes—Roman even taught me how to make Baileys! They were always making sure I was well-fed and never too tired, often telling me to relax whenever I looked like I needed a break. They also gave me so many thoughtful tips for places to visit on my days off. Whether it was Prague or even farther destinations, they would help me figure out exactly how to get there, which made traveling around the Czech Republic so easy and enjoyable. The town itself is small but so charming. There’s a river nearby for peaceful walks, and the train station is just a short distance away—only about 30 minutes to Prague! Their two daughters are absolutely lovely. Rozi, the older one, especially stole my heart. She was always so excited to show me everything—her toys, the paintings she drew—and often dragged me off to blow bubbles or play together. Even though we cannot communicate smoothly, we connected so easily through laughter and play. Those moments with her were some of the sweetest memories of my trip. Time flew by so quickly during my stay. This will always be one of the best experiences of my life. If I ever get the chance, I would return to the Czech Republic and to their home. I highly recommend this Workaway. It’s a wonderful experience where you feel welcomed, supported, and included in everyday family life.

I really enjoyed having these two at my place. They were upbeat, cheerful, willing to jump right in and tackle anything. While they were here, there were other helpers at my place and they got on with them fairly well. My little visiting dog absolutely adored them and after they left, she kept looking for them, which was a bit sad she really enjoyed having them take such wonderful care of her. I really appreciated that. They also power washed my house and scrub the deck in preparation for painting. They did such a wonderful job on the power washing of the house. I don’t think it needs painting now. Wish they could’ve stayed longer the week flew by. It was a particular hard time for me as my sister‘s husband had just passed away, and I was preparing so much for the celebration of life. I didn’t have a lot of time to spend with them which I deeply regret. It was great having them there, giving me an opportunity to focus on what I needed to get done as I completely trusted them with anything I gave them to do. Lovely, couple great workers and anybody who has them come to their home will be very satisfied. Hope the two of them have a wonderful trip and hope maybe they’ll come back this way again.

Two weeks at the farm passed by too fast and I started missing Pisogne’s serenity and magical sights the moment I left. Levi and Fabri were great hosts from the start. They always made sure I had everything I needed, and their warmth quickly made me feel at home. Volunteers are asked to provide help at a mountain farm, which means that they must be prepared to do some uphill walks, lifting, and back-bending. However, the work was always fair and the instructions were communicated clearly, making everything easy and smooth. Eating good-quality food every day may be a stereotype about Italy, but Levi and Fabri live up to it all the way and I was always looking forward to lunch and dinner. The insightful conversations were an added bonus to the mealtime. It was very easy to feel that Levi and Fabri care about what they do, that they love their life, and that they also want to share it all with others - and I appreciated this more than anything. All I can say is, a very big thank you!

We really loved our time in Vaiano with this beautiful family. They are very welcoming and curious about us, and we felt there was a good connection and cultural exchange. Our work consisted of giving water and food to the animal and cleaning their habitats in the morning. 2 beautiful, curious geese, and 17 chickens. We came in the end of the vegetables season, so there was not a lot left in the garden, but the family provided us with good base ingredients. We did still have to buy ingredients, so keep this in mind if you are traveling on a budget:) Annamaria always has good tips on where to go for walks, museums, swims in the river and so on:) We spent our free time walking around, enjoying the garden, and going into the cute city of Prato! Enjoy your time in Vaiano!

Great host for persistent and empathetic people. The more you help and care, the more you are welcomed with amazing experiences — from Michelin-star restaurants to a wide range of attractions. That’s how I see the two months I spent living with Nicole. This was my first time abroad on my own. At 19, moving to a foreign country felt like a huge challenge. But I was genuinely surprised by the incredible hospitality I received. The work was always balanced fairly with the attractions she shared with me. I was never forced to do more than I was expected to; I always felt free and respected. Nicole speaks excellent English so it gave me the chance to improve my English every single day in a natural way. Since I don’t speak French, I would have struggled to truly experience the culture on my own.But Nicole was my hero. She always gave me the most important information about cities, museums (especially when the explanations were only in French or German), and local traditions. Thanks to her, I could understand the nuances hidden in this culture. Visiting Bartholdi Museum in Colmar and Schweizer Muzeum in Kaysersberg, experiencing beautiful concerts in the church at Rouffach, eating at many different restaurants — from traditional inns to Michelin-starred ones were the attractions that I was provided with.Thank you again, Nicole. I hope this review will inspire many others to come !

Looking for someone to help us with fysical jobs, in Becca we've found a much more delicate soul, who helped us to address a much more delicate topic. She spoke up when she felt some tension. Which gave us the change to embrace ourselves and the situation. Next thing she managed to find the jobs and tasks which gave us some very well appriciated time to relax and/ or spend more quality time together with the family. She's always welcome for another stay.

My experience at Dominique's (and Tiffen's) home was wonderful! It was my first Workaway experience, and I never expected to have such a great time! Tregunc is a gorgeous place; I loved the beach, the ocean, and the sunsets...Dominique and Tiffen welcomed me so kindly and always made me feel at ease! They were very patient with me, even when I didn't understand French very well...It was so relaxing taking care of the garden, painting the windows, and feeding the friendly goats! I loved Brittany so much!! I hope to stay in touch with Dominique and Tiffen and maybe see them again...in Italy !!😊

The experience was higher than any expectation. The place is magical and the family is so welcoming. Juan and Luna are young parents with a big vision. They have 2 adorable kids, 3 cute cats, plenty of chickens that run towards you every morning. The work is mostly in the garden but also helping around the house is appreciated. The most beautiful sunsets😍

Staying with Friederike and her family for a week and a half was the perfect way to begin our time traveling in Norway. She went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and cared for. We were given a project to work on during our stay, and we were trusted to figure out our own methods and work schedule that worked best for us, but Friederike was always available when we had questions or needed help finding tools or materials. Even though the property is in a pretty remote location, she not only picked us up and dropped us off at the train station, but she always invited us to accompany her and her family on trips into town and on other adventures. We could not recommend this Workaway enough, and we hope to be back someday! <3

These last few months since leaving this place have only made me love my time there more and more. Petra and Adrian are wonderful hosts. They are lovely people who genuinely cared about my wellbeing and introduced me to a way of life that was very different to what I was used to! I miss them both, especially the lovely breakfasts we'd have with delicious sourdough bread and jams of every flavour I could think of. The work was fantastic. At times it was difficult but I felt great doing it and I would love nothing more than to return one day and do it all over again! I loved the animals, all of the dogs and the horses and especially Sookie, who is probably the friendliest cat I have ever met in my life. I miss how she would curl up on my stomach and nap while I took my afternoon break. I can't recommend going to this place enough. Adrian and Petra will make you feel like part of their family, you will fall in love with Sweden if you aren't already, and leaving the animals will probably break your heart a bit but the memories are so worth it. I treasure the memories I have there and I only wish I had spent more time there. maybe next time I will!

I had a wonderful experience staying here, location was incredible! Accommodation was lovely right on the sea! So peaceful and such amazing peaceful nature vibes. The work was easy, just had to help clean beach clean and with some basic garden stuff. But she said it can vary. Host was lovely and helpful and the dogs are too cute! I loves my time here, thank you!

I stayed for a week. The people are nice, welcoming and active. They work together and guide you through the work. I like the spirit and the energy. The house has a warm atmosphere and a lot of things were self made.

I had a warm and open relationship with this couple during their stay. We could talk about most things, and the atmosphere was generally relaxed and friendly. They seemed happy to be in peaceful surroundings, and the boy took responsibility for communication, as the girl didn’t speak English — something that became clear after arrival. On the practical side, the effort was mixed. The boy took the lead and followed instructions well, while the girl needed more tailored tasks and was harder to understand. I found they had very little hands-on experience, and some basic routines — like feeding the chickens — were not followed despite clear explanations. I had to repeat instructions several times, and it required adjustments on my part to make things manageable. They took excellent care of a kitten that arrived during their stay, and I’m truly grateful for that. We also solved some practical issues together, like switching to a fixed food budget so they could shop independently. This made things easier to manage, more predictable, and fair. They arrived without work clothes or shoes, which made it clear that we should have talked more in advance about the nature of the tasks. I take some responsibility for that and will aim to be clearer in future arrangements. Matching expectations and responsibilities early on is key to making this kind of setup work well. Their departure was emotional and heartfelt — they initiated a warm goodbye, which meant a lot to me. I wish them all the best on their journey ahead and in life together.
