Lisa and Neil were amazing hosts, in a beautiful part of NZ! They were very welcoming and looked after us generously, their accommodation was beautiful and it was such a pleasure to help with their beautiful garden. The location was lovely, a short walk to shops and restaurants and an even shorter walk to the beach. Their workaway is also in driving distance from fishing spots and beautiful Piha! They provided everything we needed to work and more. As well as helping us out with time off by lending us books to find local walks and suggested places we should visit locally and on our travels. Thank you for having us, and for your lovely home made muesli! I would highly recommend staying with Lisa and Neil if you enjoy a peaceful and independent workaway with an interesting and generous couple. We hope to see you again!

Hosting Lara for one week was a very positive experience. She was polite, respectful of our house rules, and adapted easily to our daily routine. She was cooperative and happy to join activities, even accompanying us to an event where she was pleasant and easy to be around. She also showed great thoughtfulness by giving us a handmade pair of macramé earrings she created herself, along with a lovely painted card filled with kind words and kindly shared her address with us hoping we could meet again in the future. Lara was a wonderful guest, and we would happily recommend her. Good luck Lara and we hope to meet you again.

We cannot express how grateful we are to Rob, Ayami and his kids for a wonderful time we had in Appi. I'll consider anyone who worked for Rob lucky, he's truly the chillest boss ever! We enjoyed lots of nights sharing stories together, and at points sharing lunch/dinner together as I wanted to share my cooking with Ayami. About work: We worked at Ollies for 5 days a week, 5 hours or less, depending how busy or quiet it was. What was great was we start work in the evening so we have the whole day to do our own thing aka snowboard before we start work. The work was easy as it's a small pizza bar ran by 2 people, then 1 person towards the end of the season when the peak season started dwindling down. Others worked in a bigger restaurant. We got a room to ourselves as we're a couple, as did the other couple. Staff who came alone or with a friend shared a room with another person or two. Appi as a place is not a nightlife town, but a town focused mainly on the ski resort as it's really the only thing to do. Having a car is ideal as Appi was such a perfect base for is to travel Tohoku, and the closest big city is Morioka, which we came to love in comparison to other cities we've visited. There was a weekly trip to the grocery arranged but there is a free shuttle bus every half an hour to go to Lawson, or the train station although it runs infrequently and sometimes gets cancelled due to strong snow so always check before travelling! I will recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet ski resort, almost always no queues except weekend mornings. Perfect for beginners! Looking forward to visiting again!

I had Camille come stay on the farm for 2 months. It was a pleasure to have her. Nothing was any trouble. Anything had to be done, she got stuck in and done it. She was very good with the horses and dog's. She was a lovely friendly girl and gets on well with everyone. Any host would be lucky to have her . I wish her all the best on her journey and maybe see her some day again. Regards Ryan

It was lovely having Bernadette and Verena stay for nearly two weeks. We quickly got into a nice work-life rhythm. I'm so grateful for all their hard work - painting, planting, cleaning, weeding. Nothing was too much and they had a great positive attitude to everything. Most common phrase heard was - "can I help you with that?" :) They also cooked delicious vegan meals and were very kind and caring with my dog, Suzi. We had some great chats about everything and enjoyed card games together too. I highly recommend this duo - they come with a great work ethic, are mature beyond their years and super easy to have around.

The six days we spent with Andrés and Florian (another Workaway volunteer) were fantastic. We really felt very welcome. The days were full of variety, and after cooking together, we enjoyed the campfire and the starry sky. The place is brilliant and the atmosphere is very warm and respectful. We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you so much for everything.

We just finished a three week exchange with Rin. She was such a joy to have stay with us. Incredibly polite and respectful and always happy to give a new task a go! Rin had lots of "firsts" with us which we were so happy to be a part of. We would welcome her back in a heartbeat!

Richard is very good and I would recommend him and host him again. He is easygoing and hard working, he is respectful of others privacy and keeps his guest cottage clean. He eats whatever is put on the table and always helps to clean up. While with us we did landscape gardening and weeding, some painting and made a nice Zen garden. He always helped at my friends house when her roof was leaking and they needed help to cover it. I like that he does not drink alcohol and was flexible with the working hours when the rain prevented us from working outside.

we had a wonderful time staying with Aktam and his warm family. They went out of their way to immerse us into their family and traditional Uzbek life. Each day, we helped out with some of the farm work that needed to be done (digging trenches for watering the fruit trees, digging up the grape vines after winter) and I was invited to speak at Aktams university about education in the UK. We were also so lucky to join in many interesting trips, like walking into the mountains, swimming in the nearby lake, making samsa and Plov ! There wasn't a clear schedule and we were often invited to join things last minute, so if you want a clear plan or structure, it might not be your vibe but overall we had a really wonderful time with our new Uzbek family - thank you Aktam !!

I enjoyed my stay with Mark and Maze to the fullest. The place Mark created is just wonderful and I was happy to battle old man's beard, harvest the potatoes, feed the ducks and much more. Connecting with the other workawayers was heartwarming and inspiring. I definitely recommend experiencing this beautiful place.

Thank you so much, Teressa, for your warm welcome and for sharing your time with me. Working with you on the future creation of your home has been a real pleasure. I also really appreciated being integrated into your life here – meeting your neighbours, your children, and your friends made the experience even more special. Wishing you all the best with the rest of your house project! I’d love to stop by again in September to visit before I leave. Keep up the great work!

Izzy and James stayed with us for just under four weeks and were the first Workawayers we have hosted. They were a pleasure to have around, and we really enjoyed hearing about all their travels and adventures. James is an experienced carpenter, and Izzy is hardworking and practical. They worked on several outdoor landscaping projects which required a good level of physical fitness and many hours of hard work. We really appreciate the great job they did in transforming our back garden. We wish them all the best in their travels.

Morgan and Rebecca stayed with us for two weeks and were a great help in the garden. They did lots of pruning and tidying up as well as collecting and spreading mulch. They also did a great job of cleaning the house and windows after the Summer holiday onslaught. I really admired the way that they got stuck in and saw each task through to the end. On a personal level they're a lovely couple to have in your midst, gracious and considerate. Thanks for your help Rebecca and Morgan and wishing you well for the rest of your adventure.

We've spend wonderfull month in the hills of Güímar — many thanks to Alex and Yarina for welcoming us! Vladimir (and his two amazing little girls!) taught us so much about organic farming and how to transform its products, all in a joyful and caring atmosphere. We loved our fellow volunteers (bonjour Irina ;) !), the peacefulness of the place, and the beautiful sunrises overlooking the sea. The little harbor of Puertito, just a few kilometers away, is full of charm :) We would definitely come back without hesitation! Alice & Julien-Yacine

Words won't be able to describe the time I had. I was lucky to spend around 4 weeks in this wonderful little home Zach and Vale have created in Southern AZ. During this time, I got to dig new garden beds, do some painting, learn natural building with adobe on their new indoor shower and outdoor bathroom whilst also spending some fun time with their two daughters. In my last week, I was even able to welcome two adorable little goats into the world! Besides, Zach and Vale's deep commitment to their busy life whilst maintaining deep kindness, ambition and insight has left me so so soo inspired. They are truly awesome and amazing humans. I hope to become close to what they are someday. I was also lucky enough to partake in two homeswaps and one seedswap which redefined and strengthened some of the attributes I imagined to be related to community. This diverse group of people shared an strong sense of mutualism and care for one another that I'd rarely experienced before. Lastly, the town of Bisbee is super funky and cool and I really recommend going to Chiricahua Ntl Park!

Hola! First of all I want to be grateful to Dee and her Mom Spomenka's hospitality and how they treated me with lot of love and kindness during all my stay (for about 3 weeks last summer)... Dee took care about our needs as volunteers and allowed us to make suggestions to develop some projects like the vegetable garden, orchard and soil improvement... Mostly I was in charge of tidying up and organising spaces, since the property was under renovation... Specially thanks for the support and all the arrangements that allowed to play music at a concert, for me one of the best moments in my life, unforgettable and even recorded! I hope we can meet again soon and would love to see all the improvements in your projects! Thank you so much for everything! Hvala Puno!

Our stay at the monastery was truly wonderful. We found a peaceful place to pause, breathe, and organise our work in a gentle rhythm. What meant the most was the strong sense of community, the genuine kindness, and the deep spiritual atmosphere that shaped each day. We leave grateful and enriched.
