Beschreibung
Come and join us in the heart of Portugal, close to the Dão River.
We live on a Quinta that used to be a hidden camping spot, surrounded by forest with the river just nearby. When we first arrived, the place was quite overgrown and almost forgotten. It is remote, fully off-grid, with water from our well and energy from the sun.
Together with family, friends, and volunteers we are slowly bringing this place back to life, step by step. There is a lot of potential here, space for creativity, new ideas, and hands-on work.
If you enjoy nature, simple living, and being part of something that is growing, you will feel very at home here.

Arbeit
Life here follows the seasons, so the work changes a lot through the year. Everyone has different strengths and interests and we try to go with the flow.
This is what you can learn from us:
* Garden garden garden work as it feeds us, including planting, harvesting, no-dig gardening is a topic, and general maintenance of the beds.
*Renovation and building, with ongoing projects like chicken coops, the outdoor kitchen, and other improvements around the farmstead.
* Food preservation, fermentation, and making juice
* Growing mushrooms
* River and forest work, including pruning, fire prevention, and general care of the land.
* Firewood work, like chopping, stacking, and building small shelters.
* General gardening tasks such as mowing, strimming, planting, and tree care.
* Permaculture and simple ways of living in balance with the land.
* Cooking and keeping shared spaces clean and welcoming.
* Off-Grid life and Homesteading
* Occasionally helping by hanging out with our 2-year-old.
The list could go on!

Meals can be prepared anytime in our community kitchen.
The kitchen and garden give a good base for daily food.
We always keep it stocked with staples for everyday cooking and breakfast, and we also have fresh herbs and seasonal vegetables/ fruits from our garden.
On work days, meals are often shared and we come together to cook and eat.
At the weekend there are no fixed shared meals, so everyone is free to cook for themselves, relax, or go out and explore the region.

Camper welcome! You can park your van on a private terrace right next to the river. It’s a perfect spot for vanlife and camping, away from the main living area, so you have your own quiet space while still being part of the place. There are the old camping facilities nearby you can use. Discover central portugal on the weekends-off!

Hier sind Haustiere in der Regel willkommen
We have chickens, dogs, a cat, a turkey and a duck… so it’s important to think about how your pet would get along with them.
