Nols volunteered with us for over four months, assisting in our Communications and Hospitality departments. His commitment of more than four months as a volunteer is highly commendable. He is disciplined in his tasks, flexible in the working environment, and easy to communicate with. His life experience gives him a calm and composed presence, and he is very understanding towards others. He is a solid team player who brings positivity to the team. His flexibility is a notable strength; he comfortably adapts to shared volunteer environments and connects easily with younger team members without complaint. I highly recommend Nols for any volunteer role, as he adjusts very easily to new environments and works really well with others.

Solo estuve una semana con Raúl y, sinceramente, fue muy poco tiempo. Desde el primer momento me sentí como en casa. Sus amigos y su familia son personas maravillosas que te hacen sentir bienvenido desde el primer día. Para Raúl, lo más importante es que todos estén cómodos, felices y disfruten de su estancia. Siempre está pendiente de los demás y se esfuerza para que todos pasen una experiencia increíble. Además, te integra rápidamente en su grupo de amigos, por lo que es muy fácil sentirse parte de la comunidad y vivir aventuras inolvidables. Yo quería aprender a hacer empanadas y él se tomó el tiempo de enseñarme cómo prepararlas. El trabajo es tranquilo y relajado; Raúl respeta la personalidad de cada uno y crea un ambiente muy agradable. Recomiendo este proyecto de todo corazón. Si tienes la oportunidad, quédate más de una semana, porque el tiempo pasa volando y la experiencia es realmente increíble.

Jacobi stayed with us for almost two months. He came during the off season when things were quiet, but he brought plenty of energy with him! He connected really well with the other volunteers and was always great with guests .. kind, considerate, and genuinely interested in the people around him. He’s the kind of person who keeps the vibe alive ..always joking around, always up for a good time, and somehow making even slow days feel fun. His passion for photography added a creative spark to the team too. We’d happily welcome Jacobi back anytime. Highly recommended!

Sidonie and Carpo’s farm is one of the most scenic I’ve ever seen. It’s filled with beautiful animals. You will be staying in a lovely independent cabin. I’ll always remember that night we had a bonfire, and Ant and the neighbor showed us The Dark Emu in the night sky, hiding among the stars. I’ve done door sanding, mulching, feeding animals, wood chopping, and other gardening work. Working on this beautiful farm is truly unforgettable.

From the moment Laurence arrived we just knew her visit was going to be amazing. We spent two months together and enjoyed each other’s company immensely, Laurence fitted in with us, our dogs and routine like we’d known each other forever. She cooked some fantastic meals, mainly French based and I will testify she is a superb Crepe maker!!! She cleaned, sanded, painted, learnt to use our ride on mower, chainsaw and all the garden equipment and did everything happily and up to an A1 standard always with a smile. We also learnt a few French words and so did Zoe & Pippa. Laurence, we miss you and can’t wait until you return before you leave for home. Good luck for the rest of your stay in New Zealand.

Cherrie stayed with me for 7 month. She has exactly the connection to the animals, how I like it to be. I could confide her my horses and my dogs a 100%. So that was mainly her task. The abused horses and dogs found more trust through her sweetness and love. She spend more time with them than me, what helped me concentrate on other things, like my business and the development of my project and solving upcoming challenges and problems. It is such an enrichment to have her around. I am looking forward for her coming back. She is really missed here.

Omar did a great work painting the buildings on my land. He was very dedicated to paint the ornament windows very precise, that was a work that needed a lot of patience. He helped to take out weeds on my land and planted the new trees with fertilizer from the horses. For sure he was challenged of the pack of my 9 dogs, with some very energetic ones. But he managed to get more secure around them. With my little quiet dog Gina he was bonding more deeply. I think he would have liked to take her home. Even he didn't had much experience with horses before, he could connect with my horse Bob and explain him in his way, what to do. Bob really liked it and followed his instructions. Omar was watering the garden at my house when it was not raining. He cleaned out plants and replanted in different pots and different places in the garden. He was in his world, when he worked in the garden and really loved it. Omar cooked often very creative and healthy menus and presented it with enthusiasm to the community. But if you don't like a lot of ginger you have to tell him. Omar had often an idea how things have to be and to be done and not. Me too. So this was sometimes challenging for me. I am grateful for all the work he did in my place. It was helpful to bring things forward. And I didn't had to cook myself all the time, that gave me time for other things to do. I wish him all the best for new adventures and more positive experiences.

Camille & Valentin arrived as I was heading to a Dinner & Quiz locally. Unexpectedly I was heading to Auckland to look after My Daughter & Grandson. After the quiz I showed theme my place & let them stay by themselves to work on their 4X4 Building Project. When I returned all was spike & span & My shed had never been SO spotless. Clara spent two weeks with our family, helping out in the house, the garden and with the kids. It was a pleasure to have her with us, very polite , responsible and a hard worker; as well as a wonderful personality to spend time chatting with. Welcome back anytime

Where can I start describing the amazing time I had with Bec and her beautiful kids? I had the pleasure to stay with them for 4 months, and it has been the best time I could ever ask for. Bec and I became soon close friends, she supported me while I adapted to my new life in Australia, and I am very grateful for her being in my life now. Ari and Levi are two super energetic, funny kids. They can be challenging at times but they show so much love and tenderness that it's worth every bit of effort you have to put into them. I experienced joy and acceptance since the very beginning of my stay, and I really feel like I have a second family on the other side of the world. I am profoundly thankful for every minute I got to spend with them. If you're looking for a loving, caring, fun (at at times challenging) time, you should definitely come and stay with this beautiful family.

Julia and Kate arrived in their van just as the weather started to change for the worse! However they indicated they were more than happy to don gumboots and raincoats. We worked around the rain showers for a couple of days, cleaning windows and doing indoor tasks. Finally we were able to get onto the major task of pruning hydrangeas, for which the girls were a great help. Kate and Julia also helped with mulching and the spreading of mulch, along with creating a garden edge with small stones. The girls were honest, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed having them here. We wish them well in their travels in Aotearoa and in future Workaway positions.

I had a really great stay with Janine and Jason and can highly recommend them as hosts. From the very beginning they made me feel welcome and included me in their daily life. The work with the horses was a completely new experience for me, and I learned a lot during my stay—especially how to ride, which I had never done before. It was really rewarding to see my progress in such a short time. What I appreciated most was the relaxed and open atmosphere. I felt comfortable asking questions, learning new things, and just being part of their routine. It was also interesting to get an insight into a different lifestyle, which made the whole experience even more special. Overall, a great Workaway experience with kind, easy-going hosts and lots of new impressions. Thank you both for having me! 😊

Me and Emilia spent 3 very nice weeks at Anna's and Steve's place. Anna and Steve were very welcoming, friendly and were really helpful in regards of which things to do in the area. The house is located right at the beach. There's a beautiful outdoor kitchen with ocean view. Puerto Cayo is a cool, local and chill place to spend some weeks. It's a small safe pueblito with locals inviting you over for dinner just after 10min of speaking to them at the local football field. Awesome people! The work was totally fine and Anna is very flexible with your working tasks as well as the time schedule (which you can pick individually but normally people work from 8am to 12pm). Our tasks included cleaning the windows, reparations, walking the dogs and gardening. Regarding the surf, there is a board rental for 10$ per hour and surf classes for 20$ per hour. Or you bring your own board. The beach break in front of the property is quite a hard slap and often close-out (although generally it was quite big when we were there) - so you might want to move a bit more south near the cabañas. Thanks a lot!

I stayed with Janice and Darryl for 2 weeks. During my time there I had a lot of fun learning tons about life in rural Sasketchewan and their farm life. Besides helping on the farm, I also had the chance to go on a ride along on the big machinery and was allowed to drive across the field with an ATV (lots of fun!) The highlight of my stay was giving the bottle to one of the baby goats! Both were very welcoming and have given me important tips for my travels. Darryl even picked up a part for my car during a trip to the city. Due to repairs on my car and a tornado warning I had to stay longer than originally expected and that was no problem at all because Janice was so flexible thankfully. Thank you for your kindness, I really enjoyed my stay with you!:)

Ocea stayed with us for a week She was a pleasure to host as she's very flexible, cheerful, helpful and sparking joy. From cooking to moving furniture she was supporting us in many ways always with her kind and positive attitude.

Quel plaisir d’avoir pu compter sur Amélie et Nadia pendant ces deux trop courtes semaines! En plus d’avoir été super efficaces (elles ont pris en charge, entre autres, un gros projet pour notre vide sanitaire et l’ont mené du début à la fin avec beaucoup de soin!), nous avons eu la chance de faire la connaissance de deux très belles personnes avec qui nous avons pu passer des moments de qualité (On a beaucoup ris ! ) ! Notre garçon a également beaucoup aimé pouvoir passer du temps avec elles et elles ont été douces, patientes et créatives avec lui! On recommande sans hésiter, c’est certain!!
