Welcome to our little slice of paradise! We’re Jason and Janine, and we share our seven-acre property just north of Kerikeri with our much-loved dogs, cats and horses.
About Us:
We love the rural lifestyle and having our animals around us. We’re semi-retired but still run our businesses from home, so life is a mix of work, looking after the property and enjoying the place we call home.
Location:
We’re just 10 minutes north of Kerikeri, with the Bay of Islands, beautiful beaches and lovely walks all within easy reach. If you enjoy being outdoors, there’s plenty to explore in your time off.
What We Offer:
During your stay, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the tranquility of rural living while contributing to our daily tasks for 5 hours a day. In return, we provide comfortable accommodation, where you can unwind and recharge after a day of fulfilling work. To fuel your daily adventures, we'll supply the essentials for a hearty Kiwi breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Perks:
Lake Manuwai is right on our doorstep. You’re welcome to grab a kayak from the front lawn and head out on the water in your free time. If you love horses, you’ve come to the right place. Spend time with ours, learn some horsemanship or simply enjoy being around them. There’s something special about their company, and we love sharing that with people who feel the same.

We love living here and enjoy sharing our home with people from different backgrounds. There’s usually a bit of banter, and sharing a meal is a chance to chat, hear about your travels and get to know each other.
You’ll get a feel for everyday life on a rural property, including the tasks that keep us busy and time spent with the animals. We can also point you towards some of our favourite places around Kerikeri for you to explore in your free time.
The horses are a big part of our lives. If you’re interested, there are opportunities to help with their care and learn about horsemanship. We’re interested in helping people understand horses, how they communicate and how to work with them. You don’t need to be an experienced rider, just willing to listen and learn.
We enjoy having people here who are happy to join in, lend a hand and share a little of their own lives with us too. -
