  Hi, we are Sophie (44, german) and Boris (49, dutch). After being workawayers ourselves for some time, we are now living in a place where we are able to host. Just an hour north of Lisbon, close to the most beautiful beaches, is our home with a big garden, fruit trees and veggies. Living close to the ocean and in the peaceful surroundings of the countryside is amazing. It’s just our private home, we don’t have a commercial business here. We enjoy working on our land and have lots of ideas and projects where we’d love a helping hand.

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  We are located near Peniche which is a famous surf town and here are plenty of nice things to do here. We are happy to share any gardening skills, diy skills, languages and traveling stories. We hosted lots of couchsurfers in the past when we lived in Holland and we enjoyed that very much. Having done some workaway ourselves while traveling we are now looking forward to be a host. We enjoy meeting new people, working together on projects and learning about different cultures and lifestyles.

  Arbeit

  The type of help includes general gardening depending on the season, taking care of the vegetable garden and the fruit trees, help constructing a riverbed, planning and building a chicken coop, building a cover for rainwater tanks and all those little projects around the garden. You will be doing tasks together with one of us or by yourself depending on the projects. We prefer someone with experience in gardening, DIY, or home projects.

  Unterkunft

  Your accommodation is a studio at the ground floor of our house. The studio has a separate entrance, it's own bathroom and kitchen. From the studio you can step outside into our garden, where you’ll find hammocks for lazy afternoons and a swimming pool to cool off.
  
  We provide 3 meals a day in exchange for 25 hours a week of work, with 2 days off. Everyone can follow their own rhythm in the morning and we do breakfast on our own. Lunch is the main meal of the day. We eat mostly vegetarian, organic food, but sometimes we also like to have a little BBQ. In the evening we have a lighter meal.

  You need a car to get around here!
  
  The beach is just 5 minutes and Peniche is 15 minutes by car. There are lots of things to do in this area, depending on what your interests are: surfing, beaches, hikes, cafes, restaurants, sightseeing or activities.
  
  We enjoy a quiet and peaceful life here. No party, no smoking, no drinking.
