Welcome to a Creative, Off-Grid Project in Rural Portugal
Hi! We’d like to welcome you to our beautiful place, where life is guided by nature, creativity, and connection. We make music, write poetry, create art, and explore sustainable living. Over the years, we've also taught more than 25 permaculture courses across Europe and Asia, and sharing knowledge is at the heart of what we do.
About three years ago, we settled on this wild piece of land and have been growing, and learning together with the help of friends, travellers, and volunteers ever since. We're now welcoming others to join the journey—to contribute, learn, and be part of a shared off-grid lifestyle.
What to Expect
Life here is deeply connected to the outdoors. We live close to the land, cook together, and engage in a range of hands-on and creative projects. We provide different types of simple, rustic accommodation—including tents caravans, or a room in a restored taipa (rammed earth) house. Mattresses and pillows are available, and you're welcome to bring your own sleeping bag (we can also provide one if needed). Caravan parking is also an option.
Facilities include an outdoor shower (hot or cold depending on your preference), compost toilets, and a communal kitchen for volunteers. During the shared activity days, we provide gourmet vegetarian lunches—food is an important part of our culture here!
Daily Rhythm
We ask for around 4 hours of contribution per day, 5 days a week. In return, you get to be part of a creative, hands-on community experience, where learning, collaboration, and exchange are at the center.
Weekends are yours to enjoy—whether you want to explore the nearby beaches, rivers, and charming Portuguese towns, or simply rest in a hammock with a good book. Bicycles may be available depending on timing, and we’re happy to help with transport when possible. A driver’s license is helpful but not essential.
Cultural Exchange
We see this as a chance for mutual learning and inspiration. We love hosting people from different backgrounds and sharing our knowledge of permaculture, and simple living. At the same time, we’re always learning from our guests—whether it’s a new idea, a personal story, or a creative contribution.
If you're someone who wants to explore off-grid living, connect with nature, contribute meaningfully, and be part of a collaborative experience, we'd love to hear from you.
Come be part of the next chapter —bring your creativity, curiosity, and love for the land.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

Handy with tools, independent. Asked for very little and gave a hec of a lot. A dream workawayer.
You know you're on to a winner when on arrival a workawayer wants to swing like Tarzan through thick Alentejo brush armed with a strimmer.
Had a lot of fun with this 'psychotherapist in training' - he really pulled hard when we had a deadline.
He consistently showed up and put the work in and had quite a good eye for landscaping work.
Thanks Jonas
