Beschreibung
Welcome to the newest landing of our living art project rooted in healing, creation, and community.
After a long journey through war, loss, and rebirth, we have returned to an old family home in the village of Chammis (Ain el Asad) to clean, restore, and reimagine it as a temporary base for our artistic and ecological help.
The project is part sanctuary, part creative lab. Here, we care for the land, nurture 2 rescued dogs, reuse old materials, and build spaces for music, movement, and craft.
You’ll love it here if you:
• Enjoy helping with your hands and creating beauty from what already exists
• Value honest, peaceful company
• Feel inspired by art, music, and nature
• Seek space for reflection, growth, and meaningful connection
This is not a commercial place — it’s a small, evolving ecosystem of care, art, and soul help.
Every person who comes leaves a trace in its transformation.
We welcome travellers, artists, dreamers, and those simply wishing to live gently and help something meaningful grow.

Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten
We’re Farah, a multidisciplinary artist, and Mohammad, a musician and teacher — creating a space where art, craft, and music meet.
Workawayers can explore fabric arts (weaving, tufting, sewing) and try musical instruments from around the world. We love sharing what we know — from creative techniques to everyday village life and simple, natural living.
Cultural exchange here happens naturally: through music, food, and shared help. You’ll also meet our two dogs, Roxy and Loulou, who are part of the family.
Every guest brings their own rhythm, story, and inspiration — and together, we learn new ways to create and live.
Arbeit
Workawayers who join us will become part of this living process — helping with simple building, gardening, organising, cleaning, cooking, and sharing artistic or musical ideas. You’ll be living close to nature, among olive and pine hills, in a calm place that carries a lot of stories, while also facing the reality of being here and now in Lebanon. We hope to clean the plastic from the area, make the place more eco-conscious, inspire and spread awareness through encounters, events and gatherings and take care of what no one else would.

We’re studying and playing Afghan music, and learning Dari and Persian would help us connect more deeply with its culture and poetry. In exchange, we’re happy to share Arabic — both the language and the spirit of local expression.
Unterkunft
Volunteers stay in a cozy shared room that fits up to three people and overlooks the valley from a beautiful balcony. You’re also welcome to bring your own tent or request one to be set up around the house.
The property is fully fenced, with three connected land areas and a three-story building.
• The ground floor is used by the owner’s family.
• The first floor includes the volunteer room and project space in progress.
• The rooftop loft is a creative area — home to the workshop, shared kitchen, musical instruments, and open seating spaces where we gather, play, and create.
A variety of vegetarian ingredients are always available in the kitchen. Sometimes we cook together, sometimes we take turns, and other times we prepare meals for everyone — depending on the day’s rhythm and schedule.

**Getting Here:**
If you’re arriving directly from the airport, tell us ahead of time — the ride takes about one hour and costs around $20.
You can also book your own private taxi, but it will likely cost double or triple that amount. If we’re not available at the time, we can send our trusted taxi driver for a fair rate.
If you’re coming from Beirut, the easiest way is to go to Cola Station and take any bus or van heading south (for example, Saida Sawi lines or south public vans). Ask the driver to drop you at Al Amanah Coral Station on the Jiyyeh highway. From there, we’ll arrange your pickup — either by our trusted taxi driver or ourselves, depending on the time.
The taxi we work with usually charges $7 for the trip from the highway to the house (or back). We cover this cost for your arrival, but any trips afterward are at your own expense.
**Time Off:**
During your free time, you’re welcome to explore all the tools in our workshop — from fabric arts and tufting to sewing and musical instruments. We’re happy to guide you if needed.
You can also spend time with our dogs, Roxy and Loulou, or simply relax and enjoy the surroundings.
For exploring the local area, there’s an electric bike available for your use. For grocery trips or visits to nearby towns, we can arrange a drop-off, or you can use the tuk-tuk or taxi. From the highway, it’s easy to access Beirut, the Shouf, and other nearby regions.

**Respecting the Space**
Out of respect for the spirit of the place and the local community, this is an alcohol- and drug-free environment — we aim to keep the energy clear, grounded, and peaceful.
Smoking is fine when done outdoors, discreetly whenever children are present, or openly in the evening within the designated open and well-ventilated gathering areas.
