Namaste! I'm Chaman, and I invite you to experience the heart of rural Rajasthan.

I run a family-managed farm in the peaceful village of Samrau, where we combine goat farming, organic agriculture, and a vision to create a fully self-sustainable living space. We’re just at the beginning stage of our journey, building everything from the ground up — with heart, hands, and hope.

Here, you won't just volunteer — you’ll be part of something meaningful. Help us care for animals, grow food organically, and shape a future model of rural sustainability. You’ll experience authentic village life, learn traditional farming skills, and enjoy simple living surrounded by nature and cultural richness.

We may be starting small, but we dream big — and we welcome open-hearted people to help us make history together.

If you're passionate about nature, community, and creating change from the grassroots, come join us.
Come as a guest, leave as family.

Language exchange is an enriching part of the cultural experience in rural Jodhpur. While Hindi and English are commonly spoken, the primary language in many rural areas is Marwari, a local Rajasthani dialect. Volunteers have the opportunity to learn basic phrases and expressions in Marwari, which will enhance their connection with the community and deepen their understanding of local culture. Engaging with local villagers in their native language opens doors to more meaningful interactions and provides a richer experience. You might pick up greetings like "Kem cho?" (How are you?), or "Ram Ram Sa" (a traditional greeting), and understand the nuances of local storytelling, proverbs, and customs. For those with a keen interest in languages, it's a great chance to practice conversational skills with people who speak Marwari as their first language. This exchange also benefits the locals, as they might be eager to learn more about other languages or improve their English, creating a dynamic and mutual learning environment.

Volunteers typically work around 4 hours per day, 5days a week, with flexibility depending on the season and tasks. Your work will involve a variety of tasks, including farming, animal care, building projects, and sustainability initiatives. You'll have regular breaks and days off to rest, explore, or connect with the local community.

This is more than just a farm stay—it's a chance to immerse yourself in the local culture. Beyond daily tasks, you may be invited to participate in local festivals, family gatherings, or community celebrations. It's a great way to learn about Rajasthani traditions, music, dance, and crafts while building meaningful connections with the locals.

While basic English is spoken, many locals primarily speak Marwari and Hindi. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn some basic phrases in Marwari, enhancing your cultural experience and helping you connect more deeply with the community.

All meals will be provided and are made with fresh, organic ingredients from the farm. Traditional Rajasthani vegetarian dishes like dal baati, gatte ki sabzi, and chapati are common, with occasional sweets like ghevar and mawa kachori. We cater to basic dietary preferences, but please let us know about any specific food restrictions or allergies in advance.

We prioritise safety on the farm, with well-maintained tools and equipment. However, due to the rural setting, please be aware of the potential challenges that come with living in a desert region, such as extreme temperatures and limited healthcare facilities. It’s important to stay hydrated, wear sun protection, and take necessary precautions when working outside.

Jodhpur is easily accessible by train, bus, and air from major cities in India. Once you arrive in Jodhpur, we will assist you with transport to the farm. For any long-distance travel during your stay, we can help arrange the best options.

On your days off, you can explore nearby attractions like the majestic Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, or visit local markets to shop for handicrafts and souvenirs. The surrounding desert landscape is perfect for hiking, stargazing, or taking a camel ride.

This is a chance to not only work on a farm but to be part of a larger movement toward sustainability and community-driven projects. You’ll collaborate with other volunteers, locals, and me to create a space that values eco-conscious living and environmental stewardship. Your time here will offer valuable hands-on experience in sustainability, farming, and rural development.

We look forward to welcoming you to our eco-farm, where your contribution will make a meaningful impact while you learn, grow, and experience the beauty of rural Rajasthan.
