  Cultural exchange is at the heart of our home! Both we and our children are eager to meet people from all over the world, learn about new cultures, and share daily life together.
  
  In exchange for your help, we offer an open family environment where you can practice German, learn about local Austrian traditions, and explore our beautiful region. We love sharing meals, board game evenings, and relaxed chats in the garden. We’d be thrilled if you enjoy sharing stories, recipes, or a piece of your home culture with us!

  Arbeit

  We are looking for an extra pair of hands to help us out around our home and garden. Tasks mainly include general gardening (like weeding, watering, and light yard help), simple home tasks, and basic household chores. We enjoy a relaxed and communal atmosphere. For meals, we would love to alternate cooking dinner so everyone gets a turn to relax or cook their favorite recipes. We’re excited to share delicious meals, exchange stories, and learn from each other!

  We are very open to language learning! We would love for our kids to practice and improve their English through natural everyday conversations, games, or shared activities. Additionally, as a family, we are super motivated to learn Italian, so native Italian speakers (or fluent speakers) are extra welcome! In return, we are happy to help you practice and improve your German.

  Unterkunft

  Private Spaces: You will have your own private, lockable twin bedroom as well as your own private bathroom.
  
  Shared Spaces & Amenities: All other areas are shared with our family, including the kitchen, living room, balcony, rooftop terrace, and garden. You are also welcome to use our washing machine.
  
  Food & Meals:
  
  Food Expenses: We pay for all food and groceries. Grocery shopping can be done together or arranged flexibly depending on what works best.
  Breakfast & Lunch: Self-prepared (you can grab food from the kitchen and prepare it whenever it suits your routine).
  Dinner: We love sharing evening meals together! We alternate cooking dinner so everyone gets a turn to cook or relax.

  Transport & Location:
  Steyr has excellent train connections for exploring Upper Austria and beyond. Plus, there is a city bus stop located directly opposite our house. You are also welcome to use our bicycles to explore—just keep in mind that Steyr is fairly hilly and the bikes are a bit older!
  
  Good to Know:
  We prefer hosting couples. Detailed house rules will be provided upon initial contact so we are all on the same page. We look forward to getting to know you!

  Well-behaved dogs are welcome! We ask that you use the nice walking paths right near our house for taking your dog out, as our garden is off-limits for dog business. Additionally, dogs must be quiet at night—we cannot accommodate dogs that bark during the night.
